Su padre es afro-jamaicano de descendencia panameña y su madre es chino-jamaicana. Jeff Jones, un cazatalentos, lo fichó en 1992 para la revista de hip hop The Source, y en 1993 fue fichado por Ralph Lauren como imagen de la línea deportiva masculina Polo.  En 1995 VH1 lo nombró ''Man of the Year'' y la revista People lo incluyó en su lista ''50 Most Beautiful People in the World''. 
He's from a family of a Afro-Jamaican father of Panamanian descent and a Chinese Jamaican mother. Jeff Jones, a talent scout, recruited him in 1992 for the hip hop magazine The Source. In 1993 Tyson was recruited by Ralph Lauren as the front model for the company's Polo line of male sportswear. In 1995, he was named by VH1 as ''Man of the Year'' and People magazine included him on the list ''50 Most Beautiful People in the World''. 

Ha trabajado para revistas como Vogue, GQ, Details, Men's Health y Health & Fitness. En 2003 participó en el reality I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! Fue presentador junto a Niki Taylor de las dos temporadas del programa de Bravo, Make Me a Supermodel. En 2014, Vogue nombró a Tyson el mejor modelo masculino de todos los tiempos. También es actor, y ha participado en numerosos vídeos musicales.
He's worked for magazines such as Vogue, GQ, Details, Men's Health and Health & Fitness. In 2003 he participated in the reality show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! He was the host, together with Niki Taylor, of the two seasons of Bravo's show Make Me a Supermodel. In 2014, Vogue named Tyson as the greatest male model of all time. He's also an actor and he's appeared in many music videos.

Carolina Herrera cede la dirección creativa de su marca después de 37 años

Carolina Herrera cede la dirección creativa de su marca después de 37 años. El desfile del lunes 12 de febrero de 2018 pasará a la historia como el último desfile de Carolina Herrera al frente de la firma que decidió crear a los 41 años. Pero que no cunda el pánico. Como ella misma ha dicho, no es un adiós. Para ella es un paso más en su carrera, por eso ha decidido, a sus 79 años, convertirse en embajadora global de la firma que lleva su nombre y dejar que Wes Gordon, su consultor creativo desde hace un año, tome el relevo. Pero dejadme que os cuente algunas cositas de la que es, sin duda, una de las mujeres más elegantes de la NYFW y, seguramente, del mundo entero.
Carolina Herrera assigns the creative direction of her brand after 37 years. The show that took place on February 12th 2018 will be part of the fashion history as the last Carolina Herrera’s fashion show at the front of the firm that she decided to create when she was 41. But don’t panic. As she said in an interview, this isn’t a goodbye. For her, this is one step forward on her career. That’s why she’s decided, with her 79 years, to become the global ambassador of Carolina Herrera and let Wes Gordon, her creative consultor for over a year, take the replacement. But first, let me tell you a few things about one of the most elegant women at the NYFW and, undoubtedly, of the whole world.

María Carolina Josefina Pacanins Niño nació en Caracas (Venezuela) el 8 de enero de 1939.  Hija de Guillermo Pacanins Acevedo, comandante y gobernador de Caracas entre 1950 y 1958, y María Cristina Niño Passios, nació en el seno de una familia acomodada. Su primer matrimonio fue con Guillermo Behrens Tello, con el cual tuvo a sus dos primeras hijas. En 1969 se casó con Reinaldo Herrera, editor de Vanity Fair, lo que le otorgó el título de marquesa consorte de Torre Casa (título nobiliario español creado en 1722 por el rey Felipe V) y con quien tuvo otras dos hijas.

María Carolina Josefina Pacaníns Niño was born in Caracas (Venezuela) on January 8th, 1939. She’s the daughter of Guillermo Pacanins Acevedo, major and governor of Caracas between 1950 and 1958, and María Cristina Niño Passios. She was born in the bosom of a well-off family. She got married for the first time with Guillermo Behrens Tello, and she had two daughters with him. In 1969 she married Reinaldo Herrera, Vanity Fair’s editor, acquiring thus the title of consort marchioness of Torre Casa (a Spanish aristocratic ttile created by Felipe V in 1722). She also had two daughters with him.

Fue Diana Vreeland, antigua editora de moda en Harper's Bazaar y también directora de Vogue, la que le dio el empujón para formar parte activa del mundo de la moda. Desde que en 1981 presentó su primera colección, el imperio CH no ha parado de crecer y siempre ha sido sinónimo de lujo y exclusividad. Llegó a diseñar el vestido de novia de Caroline Kennedy, y en 1988 lanza su primer perfume (y ya van 13 hasta el momento, siendo 1991 el nacimiento de su primera fragancia para hombre) gracias a su unión con el grupo Puig en 1987. En 1995, la marca Carolina Herrera pasa a formar parte en su totalidad del grupo.

It was Diana Vreeland, former fashion editor at Harper’s Bazaar and also Vogue, who encouraged Carolina to become an active member of the fashion industry. So, since Carolina Herrera presented her first collection in 1981, her empire hasn’t stopped growing and its always been a synonym of luxury and exclusivity. She got to design the Caroline Kennedy’s wedding dress. In 1988 she launched her first perfume thanks to her partnership with the Puig group in 1987 (nowadays, there’re 13 CH’s fragrances on the market; the first male perfume was created in 1991). In 1995, Carolina Herrera as a brand became completely part of this multinational company.

Otros datos de interés son, por ejemplo, la apertura de su primera flagship en el 2000, concretamente en Madison Avenue (Nueva York). En 2001 nace CH Carolina Herrera, su primera línea prêt-à-porter y que además incluye accesorios. Ha recibido numerosos premios y galardones, como el premio a una década de creación artística por la asociación norteamericana Diseñadores Hispanos en 2001;  Medalla de Oro del Spanish Institute de Nueva York de manos de la infanta doña Pilar (2007); premio CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) por su carrera (2008); nombrada Doctora Honoris Causa por el Fashion Institute of Technology (2012); premio ''Who's On Next Icono de la Moda'' de mano de Mario Testino (2015).
Another interest facts are, for instance, the opening of her first flagship in  2000. To be more precise, it was opened at Madison Avenue (New York). In 2001 CH Carolina Herrera was born. This was her first prêt-a-porter line, in which she also included a line of accessories. She’s also received a lot of prizes and awards, such as the award to a decade of artistic creation by the North-American association of Hispanic Designers in 2001; the Gold Medal of the Spanish Institute of New York by the Infanta doña Pilar (2007); the Council of Fashion Designers of America award for her career (2008); she was named Doctor Honoris Causa by the Fashion Institute of Technology (2012); or when in 2015 Mario Testino handed her over the “Who’s On Next Fashion Icon” award. 

Este nuevo puesto en la carrera de Carolina Herrera la llevará a viajar por todo el mundo, atendiendo y representando a la marca en todos esos eventos que tengan que ver con la firma. Un puesto que, que queréis que os diga, me parece mucho más divertido y bastante menos estresante que en el de pensar continuamente en futuras colecciones. Sea lo que sea que decida hacer, Carolina Herrera seguirá siendo un referente de estilo para muchas mujeres en todo el mundo.
This new position means that Carolina Herrera will have to travel all around the world attending and representing the brand at all those events that have something to do with CH. Well, in my opinion, it looks more fun and less stressing that waking up every morning thinking of a new collection. Whatever Carolina Herrera decides to do, I’m sure she’ll keep on being a style mentor to many women everywhere.

Pilar del Campo arrasó cual TSUNAMI en la 080

Pilar del Campo arrasó cual tsunami en la 080, y es que esta joven diseñadora hizo honor al título de su última colección. Pilar presentaba TSUNAMI en la 21ª edición de la semana de la moda catalana, y allí estaba un servidor que no se lo quería perder por nada del mundo.

As if she was a tsunami, Pilar del Campo took the runway by storm at the 080. There's no doubt that this young designer honored the title of her last collection. Pilar presented TSUNAMI at the 21st edition of the Catalonian fashion week and there was me, 'cause I didn't wanna miss it.

Qué decir del desfile. Un éxito total y rotundo. Prendas muy femeninas y atrevidas pero sin perder esa elegancia que caracteriza a los diseños de Pilar del Campo. Si hay algo que me gusta destacar de una colección cuando la veo, es su utilidad y versatilidad, y creo que las piezas que forman Tsunami cumplen a la perfección ambas funciones. Personalmente, destacaría las chaquetas metalizadas y los abrigos de pelo (¡qué maravilla!). Creo que tienen el poder de hacer que una mujer se sienta capaz de todo, de hacerlas sentir poderosas y con ganas de comerse el mundo.
What could I say about the show... Well, it was a huge success. The clothes are very feminine and a bit daring but without losing the elegance that Pilar del Campo's designs have. If there's something that I really appreciate about a collection when I see it, it's its utility and versatility, and Tsunami fulfills both functions just perfectly. Personally, I love the metallic jackets and the fur coats (simply incredible!). I think they have the power of making a woman feeling capable of doing anything, empowering them to conquer the world.

¿Sabías que si sueñas con tsunamis, una de las interpretaciones es que tu vida laboral sufrirá un gran progreso? Pilar no podía haber elegido mejor nombre para su colección, ya que en esta última edición de la 080, además de las propuestas para mujer, ha sacado su primera colección menswear, en la que el cuero es el auténtico protagonista (aunque he de admitir que la chaqueta metalizada me tiene loco).
Did you know that if you dream of tsunamis, one of the meanings implies that your professional career will experience a great progression? There's no better name that Pilar could have chosen for her collection. In this last edition of the 080, she didn't only presented her proposals for women, but she also introduced a menswear collection for the first time, and leather was the main protagonist (though, I have to admit that I'm deeply in love with the metallic jacket).

No me gustaría dejar pasar la oportunidad de agradecer a la agencia Aylón Public Relations (y en especial a Carolina y a Conchita) el trato recibido desde el segundo 1 en el que nos pusimos en contacto.
