Sacándole partido a Ámsterdam | Volumen II

Vuelvo con una segunda entrega sobre mis aventuras en Ámsterdam y qué hacer en esta maravillosa ciudad. Aunque esta vez me he ido a la afueras, concretamente a un pueblo que se llama Aalsmeerderbrug, y cuyo nombre me ha costado lo mío aprender.

Here I am again with a second chapter of my adventures in Amsterdam and some stuff to do in this incredible city. Though, this time I've traveled to the suburbs, to a town called Aaslsmeerderbrug to be more precise, and which name is really hard to remember.

Para los que no sabéis a qué me dedico, soy azafato de vuelo. Una de las bases que tiene la compañía para la que trabajo es Ámsterdam, y el hotel en el que nos alojamos, un NH muy cerca del aeropuerto, está junto a este pueblo. Me apetece hablaros de Aalsmeerderbrug  porque siempre que estamos allí nos gusta coger las bicis que el hotel pone a disposición de los clientes e irnos hasta este pueblo, que está como a unos 6km del hotel. Además, a la entrada del pueblo hay una tienda de aviación (Aviation Megastore), y a los que nos dedicamos a esto siempre nos gusta acercarnos y frikear un ratito dentro de la tienda.

If you still don't know what I do for living, I'm a flight attendant. One of the bases of my company is in Amsterdam. The hotel for our lay overs is a NH really close to the airport and located in this town. I'd like to talk about Aalsmeerderbrug because everytime we're there, we like to take the bikes that the hotel allows us to rent, and thus riding to the town, which is like 6km far away from the hotel. Besides, there's also the Aviation Megastore, and for those who work in this field, we love going there too.

Aalsmeerderbrug es muy pequeño. He investigado un poquito y su población rondará los 500 habitantes. Junto a una de sus calles más comerciales se erige The Lion, un molino de grano construido a finales del siglo XVI, aún en funcionamiento, y el cual puede visitarse (dos veces a la semana) y también comprar harina producida por el propio molino. 

Aalsmeerderbrug is quite small. I've been doing some reaserch and its population is around 500 hundred people. In one of its most commercial streets you can find The Lion, a grain mill built at the end of the XVI century. It still works and there're guided tours twice a week. You can also buy flour which is produced by the mill.

En realidad, más que de Aalsmeerderbrug, de lo que me apetece hablaros es de un bar bistró que se encuentra a las afueras del pueblo y que descubrí la última vez que estuve allí. Se llama Joseph ''Aan de Poel'' y es bien bonito.

Actually, it's not Aalsmeerderbrug what I want to talk about, but a bar-bistrot at the suburbs of the town and that I found out the last time I was there. Its name is Joseph ''Aan de Poel'' and it's a really nice place.

Tiene una terraza bastante amplia con unas vistas muy top situada en una especie de muelle junto al lago Westeinderplassen. Pero si el exterior es bonito, el interior tampoco se queda atrás. Solo me tomé una cerveza, pero los cócteles y los platos que salían de la cocina tenían una pintaca... Así que ya sabéis, si vais por Ámsterdam y Aalsmeerderbrug os pilla cerca, tenéis que ir!

The terrace is pretty large and the views are amazing. It's a kind of dock in the lake Westeinderplassen. But, if the outside is beautiful, the inside is pretty beautiful too. I just had a beer, but the cocktails and the food that came out of the kitchen looked amazing... So, if you go to Amsterdam and you happen to be near Aalsmeerderbrug, you gotta go!

Sí, lo sé, he estado alejado del mundo blogger una buena temporada. Pero como gran influencer de este país que soy, hago lo que quiero cuando quiero #porqueyolovalgo. Lo importante es que he vuelto, y con ganas de contaros muchas cositas.

Hoy os quiero hablar de Ámsterdam. Ámsterdam está en mi Top 3 de ciudades favoritas (de las que he visitado hasta el momento, claro). La verdad es que tengo un trabajo maravilloso, el cual me permite ir a Ámsterdam (entre otras ciudades) varias veces al año. Seguramente vuelva a hacer un post sobre Ámsterdam, pero en este os voy a hablar de un par de cositas que podéis hacer allí si vais, que son las que hice yo la última vez que estuve ahí (la semana pasada, para ser más exactos). 

Ámsterdam es una ciudad muy cómoda de visitar. Es muy plana y digamos que ''lo más bonito'' está bastante concentrado en lo que se podría considerar el casco antiguo. Eso sí, cuando crucéis una calle o paseéis por los canales, mucho cuidado con las bicicletas! Una de las cosas que más me gustan de Ámsterdam son sus casas, tanto por fuera como por dentro. Grandes ventanas, techos altos y una decoración muy minimalista. Además no son muy de usar persianas o cortinas, así que puedes verlos perfectamente en el sofá de sus casas viendo la tele o con el ordenador. 

Si visitáis Ámsterdam, tenéis que entrar sí o sí en el que es probablemente el coffeeshop más famoso de esta ciudad, The Bulldog. A día de hoy hay 5 The Bulldogs, además de un hostal y otros establecimientos que llevan el mismo nombre. El más antiguo es de 1975 y lo podéis encontrar en pleno Barrio Rojo. Un ambiente tranquilo, genial para tomarse una cervecita y si fumáis, sabed que dentro no dejan fumar tabaco (ojo, he dicho tabaco). Y ya que estáis en el Barrio Rojo, os recomiendo ir al Sex Palace y meteros en una de sus cabinas de espectáculos en vivo. Mejor que vayáis cuando sea de noche, ya que el espectáculo se supone que es más 'entretenido'. No esperéis tener la mejor experiencia de vuestra vida. A ver, 2€ por 2 minutos, no se le puede pedir más, pero es, cuanto menos, curioso. 

En Ámsterdam también encontraréis muchas tiendas vintage y de segunda mano. Yo estuve en una muy guay que se llama Episode (AQUÍ). Ahí tenéis ropa muy chula, tanto para chico como para chica, a muy buen precio y que está como nueva. Yo me compré las tres chaquetas que veis en la foto por 75€. 

Y por supuesto, como cada vez que voy, me compro un cartucho de patatas fritas (que es algo como súper típico allí) con mayonesa y me las voy comiendo mientras pateo las calles de Ámsterdam. Es ya como una tradición. Mi recomendación es que os cojáis unas bicis y os perdáis por sus calles y canales. Es una ciudad que merece mucho la pena, tanto de día como de noche.

Yes, I know I've been so disconnected from this for quite a long. But as the great influencer that I am in this country, I do what I want and whenever I want to #causeImworthit. The important thing is that I'm back willing to publish a lot.

Today I want to tell you some things about Amsterdam. It's definitely in my Top 3 of favourite cities (among the ones that I've visited, of course). The truth is that I have an amazing job which allows me to visit Amsterdam (among other cities) quite often. I'm sure this won't be the last time I publish something this capital, but now I want to share a couple of things you can do there (the ones that I did last week, which was the last time I went) if you're planning to go.

Amsterdam is such a comfortable city to visit. It's pretty plain and let's say that ''the most beautiful things'' are all together where it can be considered as the old town. But, be careful with the bicycles any time you cross the street or if you're walking through the canals. One of the things that I like the most about Amsterdam is its houses, both the outsides and the insides. Big windows, high roofs and minial decoration. Besides, they don't really like to use curtains or blinds, so you can see them perfectly watching TV or using the computer at their living rooms. 

If you visit Amsterdam, you really have to go to the most famous coffeeshop in the city, The Bulldog. Nowadays, there're 5 establishments with that name, a hostel and other shops. The oldest one is from 1975 and you can find it in the Red Quartier. It has a really quiet atmosphere which makes it perfect to have some drinks with your friends, though they don't let you smoke tobacco inside (yes, I said tobacco). And, as you're already in the Red Quartier, let's go to the Sex Palace and enter in one of its cabins to wath a live show. I recommend you to go at night, as the shows are supposed to be better. Nevertheless, don't expect to have the best experience of your life. It will cost you 2€ to be for 2 minutes in the cabin. It's not too much, but at least it's something ''different''.

You'll also find a lot of vintage and second hand shops in Amsterdam. I visited one which is really cool. It's called Episode (HERE) and there you'll find really nice pieces of clothing, both for boys and girls, with a really nice price and practically new. I bought the three jackets you can see in the picture and I paid 75€ for the three of them.

And, of course, every time I go to Amsterdam I have to buy some fries (which it's kinda typicl there) with mayo and I love eating them while walking through the canals and the streets of the city. For mi is like a tradition now. My recommendation for you is to rent a bike and get lost in the city. Amsterdam is hundred per cent worthy both during the day and at night.
