Designer, photographer, illustrator, collector, celebrity... Today, the whole world is paying tribute to one of the most influential fashion icon of all times. Karl Lagerfeld has died today in Paris, when he was 85-years-old. Unfortunately, this was kind of expected after he didn't show up at the end of his last fashion show in January. Both controversial and multitalented, Karl Laferfeld will always be remember as the fashion kaiser.

He was born in Hamburg (Germany) in 1933, within a quite wealthy family. It could be said that he fell in love with fashion on 13th December, in 1949, when he assisted to a Dior fashion show with his mother. When he was 20, he decided to move to Paris to chase his dream and two years later, after winning a contest, he started working as an assistant for Pierre Balmain. He has also worked for great brands such as Chloé and Fendi. He funded his own brand in the 80s, called Lagerfeld, but he will be most rememberd for his job as creative director for the greatest French maison Chanel, since 1983.

His personal life was also a little bit polemic. He went through a massive weight loss (36kg in a year); he also had a quite active night life; a little affair with drugs; a sort of sexual debauchery... Well, whosoever is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone, right? The fact that he stated quite a few controversial declarations and also his very defined aesthetic have turned him into one of the most well-known public personalities of the last years.

This is with no doubt one of the greatest loss for the fashion industry. Rest in peace, Karl.

Carolina Herrera assigns the creative direction of her brand after 37 years. The show that took place on February 12th 2018 will be part of the fashion history as the last Carolina Herrera’s fashion show at the front of the firm that she decided to create when she was 41. But don’t panic. As she said in an interview, this isn’t a goodbye. For her, this is one step forward on her career. That’s why she’s decided, with her 79 years, to become the global ambassador of Carolina Herrera and let Wes Gordon, her creative consultor for over a year, take the replacement. But first, let me tell you a few things about one of the most elegant women at the NYFW and, undoubtedly, of the whole world.

María Carolina Josefina Pacaníns Niño was born in Caracas (Venezuela) on January 8th, 1939. She’s the daughter of Guillermo Pacanins Acevedo, major and governor of Caracas between 1950 and 1958, and María Cristina Niño Passios. She was born in the bosom of a well-off family. She got married for the first time with Guillermo Behrens Tello, and she had two daughters with him. In 1969 she married Reinaldo HerreraVanity Fair’s editor, acquiring thus the title of consort marchioness of Torre Casa (a Spanish aristocratic ttile created by Felipe V in 1722). She also had two daughters with him.

Carolina Herrera Pre-Fall 18/19

It was Diana Vreeland, former fashion editor at Harper’s Bazaar and also Vogue, who encouraged Carolina to become an active member of the fashion industry. So, since Carolina Herrera presented her first collection in 1981, her empire hasn’t stopped growing and its always been a synonym of luxury and exclusivity. She got to design the Caroline Kennedy’s wedding dress. In 1988 she launched her first perfume thanks to her partnership with the Puig group in 1987 (nowadays, there’re 13 CH’s fragrances on the market; the first male perfume was created in 1991). In 1995, Carolina Herrera as a brand became completely part of this multinational company.

Another interest facts are, for instance, the opening of her first flagship in  2000. To be more precise, it was opened at Madison Avenue (New York). In 2001 CH Carolina Herrera was born. This was her first prêt-a-porter line, in which she also included a line of accessories. She’s also received a lot of prizes and awards, such as the award to a decade of artistic creation by the North-American association of Hispanic Designers in 2001; the Gold Medal of the Spanish Institute of New York by the Infanta doña Pilar (2007); the Council of Fashion Designers of America award for her career (2008); she was named Doctor Honoris Causa by the Fashion Institute of Technology (2012); or when in 2015 Mario Testino handed her over the “Who’s On Next Fashion Icon” award.

This new position means that Carolina Herrera will have to travel all around the world attending and representing the brand at all those events that have something to do with CH. Well, in my opinion, it looks more fun and less stressing that waking up every morning thinking of a new collection. Whatever Carolina Herrera decides to do, I’m sure she’ll keep on being a style mentor to many women everywhere

Keeping Up With The Hadids!

There's nothing that these two sister with Palestinian and Dutch roots can't do. Their mother is the former Dutch model and current actress Yolanda van der Herik and their father is the Palestinian American real-state developer Mohamed Hadid. Runways, commercials or shootings, their good at everything. They also kill it at the social networks (it couldn't be the other way belonging to the millennial generation). They're very different but they can't live without the other. This post isn't about choosing the most famous or the most beautiful. I just want you to freak out a little bit by seeing what they've already achieved, and they aren't even 25 yet! (I must be doing something wrong with my life...)

Gigi (Jelena Noura Hadid) is one year older than Bella. She was born in 1995 and she started in fashion when she was just 2 in a campaign for Baby Guess, but she dropped it to continue with school. Her debut was at the New York Fashion Week with a couple of outfits for Desigual in 2014. In 2015 she appeared for the first time at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, winning her wings in 2016, th same year in which she launches her first capsule collection for Tommy Hilfiger called "TommyxGigi".

Gigi's achieved plenty of successes within theses three years. She's become brand ambassador of Tommy and Reebok for the #PerfectNever campaign. She's launched a boot collection for Stuart Weitzman called "Gigi Boot". She opened 5 shows and closed 7 among New York, Milan and Paris in 2016. She's also on the cover of the best international magazines and she's the image of several cosmetic brands, apart from working for VersaceChanelElie SaabFendi y Marc Jacobs, among many others.

But the runways seem to be a small place for Gigi. She's appeared in several music videos, such as Taylor Swift's Bad BloodCalvin Harris' How Deep Is Your Love and Zayn's Pillowtalk. On TV she's appeared in Masterchef Celebrity Showdown and Lip Sync Battle. She's hosted in 2016 the iHeartRadio Music Awards and the AMAs. Last year she also won TRL Award within the Best Look category and the International Model of the Year award at the British Fashion Awards, hosted by Donatella Versace.

It seems that 2016 was a great year for Gigi, but it looks like 2017 it's gonna be Bella's moment. Her appearances at different red carpets have been of big discussion, both because of her looks and her outfits. It's true that Bella seems to be a little bit colder than her sister in front of the cameras, but her dress choices show something completely different. She loves showing off her great physique and she's tremendously sensual, though sometimes there's not enough room for our imagination...

Bella (Isabella Khair Hadid, 1996started in fashion in 2012, when she was 16, and she's doing it quite well. Her debut was in 2014 also at the New York Fashion Week for Desigual. Some of the great brands she's worked for are, among others, GivenchyChanelCarolina HerreraRalph LaurenOscar de la RentaFendi and Moschino. She became a Victoria's Secret angel last year and she's also opened and closed a bunch of shows.

Outside the runway, she's done some serious stuff too, as the music video In the Night by The WeekndShe's also won several awards, as the Model of the Year in 2016 at the Second Annual Fashion Los Angeles AwardsModel of the Year in 2016 at the GQ Men of the Year Awards and, also in 2016Model of the Year: Women (Industry's Choice) at the Models.com Industry Awards.

It's obvious that the Hadids are two strong independent women that know how to take care of themselves. Though both have shown interests beyond modeling, I'm sure we'll see a lot more from them in front of the camera.

Sorprende A Papá En Su Día!

These socks are made for walking!

Modelo RAVAL ROJO | Parachanclas!

Fa-king Unicorn

Father's Day in Spain is so close. Actually, it's talking place on 19th March. If you, like me, never know what to buy him (with the birthday and Christmas is enough effort), here I give you some tips so you can surprise your fathers.

Here in Spain we say something like ''a known evil is better than a unknown good''. Well, this saying is completely useless this time. The brands I show you today, though they might be unknown to you, are really well known by me. In fact, I've collaborated with most of them, and they're the best of the best! And, what's even better, they're made in Spain!

1. Balibur is alays a right choice. Their shirts are amazing. They care a lot about the product and defend quality above quantity, and that's something to take really into account. Whether your father likes to dress more classic or, on the contrary, more sportiveBalibur shirts fit any style! Turn Father's Day into a #momentoBalibur!

2. Summer time is also really close. We're welcoming spring this month. We have more sun light during the day and less cold, and the nice temperatures are beginning to show up. And what's better to protect yourself from the sun rays? A pair of sunglasses, of course. And what are the best? The answer is Flamingo Parade. Handmade sunglasses with different types of woods and prices that will drive you crazy!

3. If we care that much about the clothes that we use (trousers, T-shirts, jackets, even undies..), why don't we care that much about our feet? Why don't we dress them with something nice and, why not, also funny? Parachanclas! knows a lot about that. Comfortable, resistent and made with materials that respect the environment. These socks are made for walking!

And if your father is quite cool and modern, these two options will like him!

4. The first one is Amor de Padre (=Father's Love, such an appropiate name). Take a look at the website, where you'll find bags, tees and accessories with a very personal and daring style.

5. The second option is, of course, Fa-king Unicorn. A young and irreverent brand, very urban and cool. T-shirts, bags, caps, bomber jackets... Turn your father (or yourself) into a fa-king unicorn!

The Oscars 2017: Favourite & Not So Favourite Looks...

The 89th edition of the Oscar Awards took place yesterday, an event in which its red carpet gains more popularity year after year, more than the prizes themselves. I have to say that, in my opnion, I didn't like most of the outfits at the photocall. The choice of the dress, the hair, the make up... in most cases, everything failed. If I'm sure of something is that in many times less is more.

The colour white, the golden and the nude were the protagonists of the night. If we talk about more vivid colours, the Oscar goes to the red. And black, always classy and correct, in some cases it wasn't the best choice. I've chosen some of the looks that I've liked the most and some that I haven't enjoyed that much. Let's see if you agree with me.

Long Live Millie Bobby Brown!

Larga vida a Millie!

Stranger Things made her famous and she knew how to keep up an conquer a much wider audience. We met her as Eleven thanks to Netflix. She was that afraid little girl with the yellow dress and crazy about frozen waffles. The second season is about to be launched. Eleven - sorry, Millie Bobby Brown (@milliebobby_brown) - has turned into a real it girl, getting the attention in every red carpet and photocall she shows up.

For those of you that haven't seen the series yet (if you're one of those, I don't know what you're waiting for 'cause it's simply MARVELLOUS), Millie plays the role of Eleven (011), a misterious kid with certain abilities that'll change completely the lives of four other kids (don't worry, I won't spoil you anything). Anyway, the lives of these four children are not the only ones that change. Millie (who, by the way, was born in Spain) knew how to take advantage of the popularity that Stranger Things has given to her and she hasn't stopped since then: premieres, front rows, interviews, covers, collabs... She's only 12 years old but her résumé is amazing! Her last achievement: she's become the image of the well known Chuck Taylor All Star by Converse in its last campaign named Forever Chuck and directed by Karim Huu Doo.

Although, her major collab within the fashion world till now has been with Calvin Klein. This famous brand is in the spot light nowadays. It's just presented the latest collection with its new creative director, Raf Simons, and the firm's also wanted to work with Millie for its latest campaign.

Her appearances at different red carpets have been always of great interest and her outfits really well valued. Though she can be considered as what we call nowadays a influencer, she does more than fashion campaigns. She's also the protagonist of the latest Sigma's clip featuring one of my favourite artist, the British singer Birdy.

And all of this is just the top of the iceberg. Long Live Millie!
