Navidades otra vez... Y ahora qué me pongo?

Otro año está a punto de acabar. Pero no nos vamos a poner nostálgicos. Este post no es para hacer balance de lo bueno y lo malo, ni para hablar de los propósitos de año nuevo. Si eres chica y aún no sabes qué ponerte para salir en Nochebuena o Fin de Año, sigue leyendo que esto te va a interesar.

A continuación os propongo varias opciones, para todos los gustos y bolsillos. Predominan las propuestas en negro, y es que reconozco que a la hora de vestir es uno de mis colores favoritos, y si se trata para una ocasión especial, aún más. Nunca falla.

Sin duda, el gran triunfador este año es el terciopelo, aunque si no sois muy fans de ese tejido, también tenéis lentejuelas, flecos, encaje... así que ya me diréis qué opción os gusta más o si ya os habíais comprado el modelito; si pensáis repetir alguno de años anteriores; o si vuestro outfit para estas fiestas va a consistir en pijama y batamanta.

Estos son los 5 tipos de calzado masculino que deberías conocer

Da igual si eres de los que usan zapatillas deportivas los 365 días del año. Llega un momento en la vida de todo hombre en el que tenemos que ponernos unos zapatos. Si este año estáis pensando en vestiros un poco más elegantes para la cena de empresa de Navidad, para reunirte con la familia o para salir en fin de año, en este post os explico los cinco tipos más básicos de zapatos masculinos que os podéis encontrar en el mercado.

OXFORD

Este tipo es, junto con el Derby, el calzado más clásico de zapato masculino con cordones. Fueron los estudiantes de la Universidad de Oxford los que popularizaron su uso, y de ahí que se les llamen así. 

Existe una forma muy fácil de distinguir un zapato Oxford de un Derby. Si las palas del zapato (la pala es la parte superior del zapato que cubre el pie, donde se encuentran los cordones) están cosidas en el interior del zapato, entonces se trata de un tipo Oxford. Si, por el contrario, las palas están cosidas en el exterior y por tanto quedan ''sueltas'', entonces es un tipo Derby. 

Cada persona tiene su estilo propio y las normas están para romperlas, pero en términos protocolarios, el Oxford es el zapato más indicado para lucir con traje.

Hoy en día, la forma más fácil de identificar un zapato Oxford es por los pequeños agujeros que poseen (aunque también podemos encontrarlos en el resto de zapatos, pero con menos frecuencia). A estos agujeros se les denomina brogue, y pueden ser de 3 tipos: legate, si los agujeros están en las costuras; semi-brogue, si la puntera está agujereada; o full-brogue, cuando la costura de la puntera, que termina en pico, se extiende hasta la mitad del zapato.

DERBY

También conocido como Blücher (como muchas prendas de ropa que tienen un origen bélico. En este caso gracias al general prusiano G. L. von Blücher y a las botas de cordones que sus soldados usaban). Como dije anteriormente, la diferencia principal con el Oxford reside en la costura de las solapas, que van cosidas en el exterior. Encontraréis que existen zapatos con este tipo de costura y que además tienen un picado, tanto semi-brogue como full-brogue, y que por lo tanto podrían confundirse con un Oxford. Así que no os engañen las perforaciones, lo que cuenta es la costura.

Para aquellos más formales a la hora de vestir, los Derby aportan el toque informal. Si preferís un look más casual, unos Derby completarán vuestro conjunto con un toque de formalidad.

MOCASÍN

Existen tres tipos básicos de mocasines. Los penny son el modelo más sencillo; los beefroll, que son como los anteriores a diferencia de que el antifaz (así se le denomina al elemento decorativo del empeine) está fijado a los laterales en una especie de costura de nudos y que recuerda a un rollo de carne (de ahí su nombre); y por último, el tassel, más formal que los otros dos gracias al lazo que recorre toda la horma y que se cierra sobre el empeine con un nudo y una borla.

MONK

Este tipo de zapato se ha puesto muy de moda en los últimos años. Es fácilmente reconocible gracias a la hebilla, o hebillas, de los laterales. Se recomienda usar este zapato con pantalones que sean más estrechos y que queden ligeramente por encima del tobillo, ya no solo por estética, si no también para evitar que éste se enganche con la hebilla.

CHELSEA

Este tipo de calzado se ha convertido en mi favorito últimamente. Lo encuentro muy funcional, sobre todo para el otoño y el invierno, y es un zapato que, dependiendo del material, sirve tanto para una ocasión formal como para irte de cañas con tus amigos. La diferencia principal con el resto de zapatos es la ausencia de cordones y los dos paneles elásticos de los laterales. A mi, personalmente, me encanta usarlos con pitillos.

It doesn't matter if you're one of those who wear sneakers the whole year. There's a moment in every man's life in which a pair of shoes have to be used. If you're planning to dress more elegant this year for your Christmas dinner and impress your colleagues, or to reunite with your family or to party on New Year's Eve, in this post you'll find the five basic types of male shoes on the market.

OXFORD
This type is, together with the Derby shoe, the most classic male footwear with shoelaces. It was due the students at the University of Oxford and their use of theses shoes that they came to be named like that.

It's very simple to distinguish an Oxford from a Derby shoe. If the upper part of the shoe (the one covering the foot, where the shoelaces are located) is sewed inside the shoe, we're talking about an Oxford shoe. If, on the contrary, the lapels are sewed outside the shoe thus remaining ''loose'', in this case it's a Derby shoe.

Each person has a unique style and rules were set to be broken but, in terms of formality, the Oxford shoe is the one you should buy if you're wearing a suit.

Nowadays, the easiest way to identify an Oxford shoe if thanks to its little holes (though we can find these holes too on the other type of shoes, but with less frequency). These holes are known as brogue, and they can be classify within three types: legate, if the holes are found through out the seam; semi-brogue, if the toe of the shoe also have holes; or full-brogue, when the seam at the toe is sharp and it's extenden until the middle of the shoe.


DERBY

Also known as Blücher (as many other clothes with a military origin. In this case, thanks to the Prussian general G. L. von Blücher and the shoelaced boots that his soldiers used to wear). As I prevously said, the main difference among these and the Oxford is the seam of the lapels, which are sewed outside the shoe. Again, you can find Derby shoes with brogues and thus being mistaken as Oxford shoes, but take into account that what matters is the seam. 

For those of you who are more traditional, a pair of Derby shoes will make your look more casual. If you rather wear more informal clothes, these shoes will turn your outfit into a more elegant one.


MOCCASIN

There're three basic types of moccasins. Penny is the simplest one; the beefroll is like the previous one but the difference is on the ornament of the instep, which in this case is fixed on both sides by some kind of knots seam, thus resembling a beef roll (that's where its name comes from); and the tassel, more formal that the other due to the lace throughout the whole last, closing upon the instep with a knot and a tassel.


MONK

This type of shoe has become really fashionable lately. It's very easily distinguishable thanks to the buckle, or buckles, at the side. It's advisable to use this type of shoe with tighter trousers and slightly upon the ankle. Not only because of a matter of aesthetics, but also to avoid the buckle getting hooked with the trousers.


CHELSEA

This one has turned into my favorite lately. It's really functional, above all in this time of the year, very suitable for fall and winter. It's also a shoe that, depending on the material, is perfectly wearable for a formal occasion but also to go for a drink with your friends. The main difference with the rest of the other shoes is the absence of the shoelaces and the elastic panels on both sides. Personally, I love wearing them with skinny jeans.

Se nota, se siente... y es que está en el aire.

Ya ha llegado esa época del año tan odiada por unos y tan esperada por otros.

Las calles se llenan de luces; de las ventanas y balcones cuelgan Papá Noeles y Reyes Magos de todas las formas y tamaños; cientos de outfits inundan los escaparates para que seamos los más TOPS en cualquiera de las celebraciones navideñas, y no pueden faltar los anuncios de colonias y juguetes que invaden los televisores y las marquesinas de los autobuses...

De entre todos esos anuncios, hoy os hablo del que protagoniza Katy Perry para H&M. Ya en julio, la archiconocida marca de ropa sueca anunciaba que contaría con la colaboración de la también archiconocida estrella del pop. Después del exitoso boom que ha tenido la simbiosis entre H&M y Balmain hace tan sólo unas semanas, hace unos días salía a la luz la campaña publicitaria con un buen puñado de fotos y un vídeo la mar de navideño.

Katy Perry es una cantante con mucho carisma y con un gran sentido del humor, así lo demuestran sus videoclips y sus apariciones públicas. Además, como dato curioso, es la única artista femenina que ha conseguido 5 canciones del mismo álbum llegaran a ser número 1 en la lista Billboard (California Gurls, Teenage Dream, Firework, E.T. and Last Friday Night). Aprovechando ser la estrella de la campaña navideña de H&M, Katy Kerry no ha querido dejar escapar la posibilidad de sacar también su primer single navideño, Every Day Is A Holiday, cuyo vídeo os dejo a continuación, en el que se puede ver al hada Katy Perry dando vida a múltiples personajes típicos de estas fechas.

You can note it and feel it... it's in the air.

That time of the year, hated by many and loved by others, is already here.

Streets get full of lights; hundreds of Santa Clauses and Three Wise Men of all sizes and shapes hang from the windows and balconies; loads of outfits appear at the window displays so we can become the king or queen at any Christmas celebration, and the ads of perfumes and toys invading TVs and bus stops are also mandatory...

Of all those commercials, I've come to talk about the one featuring Katy Perry for H&M. Already in July, the international Swedish clothing line announced that will become partner together with the international pop star. After the great success that the cooperation among H&M and Balmain had just a few weeks ago, last week we could see this campaign with a great bunch of pictures and a very Christmas film.

Katy Perry is a singer with a great carisma and a big sense of humour, as her public appearances and videos show. Besides, as a curious data, she the only female artist who has gotten five songs of the same album to become number 1 at the Billboard chart (California Gurls, Teenage Dream, Firework, E.T. and Last Friday Night). Taking advantage of her partnership with H&M, Katy Kerry did not miss the chance to release her first Christmas single, Every Day Is A Holiday. The video is above, where you can seen the fairy Katy Perry bringing to life a lot of characters so typical of this tima of the year.

Wish List | Black Leather Jacket

Sí, ya es mía! Bueno, más o menos.. y digo más o menos porque no es de cuero de verdad (mi presupuesto no me lo permite) pero ya tengo mi cazadora de cuero negra que tanto quería desde hace mucho tiempo!

Es un clásico, tanto para hombre como para mujer. También conocidas como cazadoras biker o moteras, es una pieza atemporal que todos deberíamos tener en nuestro fondo de armario. La mía la compré ayer en Pull&Bear. Es de polipiel y está muy bien de precio, 39,99 €! Como todas las cosas, cuanto mejor sea el material, más tiempo durará, y una cazadora de piel auténtica te puede durar toda la vida. Pero bueno, yo prometo cuidar la mía lo máximo posible para que me dure mucho tiempo!

La mítica chupa de cuero lleva existiendo unos 100 años. Popularizada por Marlon Brando o James Dean, como símbolo de rebeldía e inconformismo, se volvieron a poner de moda en los años 70 y 80. Yeah, it's mine! Well... to be more precise, the one that I got is not aithentic leather (cannot afford it) but I've already have my black leather jacket that I wanted since a lot time ago!

It's a classic, both for men and women. Also known as biker jackets, it's a timeless piece of clothe that we all should have in our closet. I got mine yesterday at Pull&Bear. It's an imitation of leather and its price is quite ok, 39.99 €! As everything, the best the material is, the longer it will last, and an authentic leather jacket may be with you for the rest of your life. But I promise to take care of mine as much as I can so it can be with me for a long time!

The classic leather jacket has been existing since over a century. Popularized by Marlon Brando or James Dean, as a symbol of rebellion and non.conformism, they got fashionable again at the 70s and 80s. Nowadays, there're are many versions of this clothing, but all of the still keep its essence. Here you have some ideas together with the prices (in euros), in case you want to get yours!

Get ready for the last night of the year!

Fin de año está a la vuelta de la esquina (como que es mañana!) Sí, ya ha pasado otro año.... Y entre tanta comida/merienda/cena familiar típica de estas fechas, toca hacer balance y plantearse nuevos propósitos para el 2015, y quien dice nuevos, dice los mismos de siempre, esos que nunca se acaban cumpliendo: ponerse a dieta, aprender idiomas, hacer más ejercicio... que os voy a decir que no sepáis!

Dejando todo esto a un lado, también toca elegir modelito para despedir el 2014 y darle la bienvenida al nuevo año. Si hace 365 días os dejaba un post con algunas propuestas para ir requeteguapos por fuera, ahora os traigo otro pero para ir requeteguapos por dentro.

De todos es sabido que, aparentemente, da suerte empezar el año con ropa interior roja. Yo no sé si eso será cierto, pero por intentarlo que no quede, no? Me he documentado (sí, lo sé, estoy que me salgo) y algunos de los significados del color ROJO son el poder, la vitalidad y la ambición, además de aportar coraje, confianza y optimismo, por no hablar de que es el color por excelencia del amor, el deseo y la pasión. New Year's Eve is just around the corner (actually, it's tomorrow!) Another year is about to finish.... and within so many family meals and suppers so typical of this time of the year, we have to look back and make some new resolutions for 2015. Well... they don't have to be that new, we can always call upon those resolutions we never fulfil: get on a diet, learn another language, work out... well, nothing new you don't know yet!

Leaving all of that aside, we also have to choose a proper outfit to say farewell to 2014 and welcome the new year. If 365 days ago I wrote a post with some ideas to look magnificent on the outside, now I want you to look magnfiicent on the inside as well.

It is well known that, apparently, starting a new year with red underwear brings luck. I don't know if that's true or not, but there's nothing wrong with trying it, right? I've made some research (yes, I know, I'm surprised with myself too) and some of the meanings associated to the colour RED are power, vitality and ambition; it also gives courage, self-confidence and optimism, and it's also the colour of love, desire and passion. It doesn't matter if you don't believe in that stuff, because it's a really nice colour in any case! So here you have some proposals just in case you still don't have the entire equipment.

No, no he desaparecido!

Estos últimos dos meses la verdad es que no he parado. He empezado a estudiar en Madrid y entre los madrugones, las clases y el cansancio acumulado no he tenido mucho tiempo de publicar nada. Pero he vuelto y espero pasarme por aquí más a menudo.

No sabía muy bien de qué hacer esta entrada, pero ya que esta semana ha tenido lugar la presentación de la colección de Isabel Marant pour H&M, me ha parecido una buena idea hablaros sobre ella.

Isabel Marant es una firma que nació en 1994, fundada por la francesa Isabel Marant, y que actualmente cuenta con 10 tiendas en todo el mundo y con tiendas al por menor en más de 35 países. La habilidad de Marant de convertir sus diseños en prendas indispensables en cualquier armario ha hecho que su unión con la gran multinacional sueca ganase tanta expectación, y es que son muchas las que deseaban hacerse con un Marant.

Esta semana tuvo lugar la fiesta de presentación de la colección y como no podía ser de otra manera, muchas celebrities españolas no dejaron pasar la oportunidad de hacerse con un Marant. Si queréis saber más sobre la fiesta de presentación, sólo tenéis que pinchar en los siguientes enlaces:

No, I haven't disappeared!

These last two months have been exhausting. I've started a course in Madrid and the early waking ups, the classes and the acumulated tiredness have left me no time to post anything. But I've come back and I hope doing it more frequently.

I didn't know very well about what to write in this post, but taing into account that this week the Isabel Marant pur H&M presentation took place, I think it is a good idea to talk about it.

Isabel Marant is a fashion house that was born in 1994, founded by the French designer Isabel Marant, and that currently has 10 shops in the world and retailers in more than 35 countries. Marant's ability to turn her designs into musts in any closet has made her union with the big firm H&M one of the most expected ones.

This week it took place the presentation party of the collection and, as usual, many Spanish celebrities didn't lose the chance of getting a Marant. if you wish to know more about the party, just click on the following links:
