A estas alturas, no os voy a contar nada sobre el COVID-19 que ya no hayáis visto, oído u os hayan contado. Espero que tanto vosotros como vuestros familiares y amigos os encontréis todos bien. Aunque, muy lentamente, las cosas parecen que van volviendo a la normalidad, no podemos obviar que esta enfermedad ha hecho y sigue haciendo mucho daño y, por lo tanto, es obligación de todos el hacer caso a las recomendaciones sanitarias tanto para protegernos a nosotros mismos como para proteger a los demás. Y es aquí donde las mascarillas entran en acción. Me flipa la ''creatividad'' de la gente y los looks que se han creado algunos durante todas estas semanas.

There's nothing I can tell you at this point about COVID-19 that you haven't already heard or seen or been told. I really hope that you and all your family and friends are fine. Though it seems that, very slowly, things are getting back to normal again, we can't forget that this virus has caused, and it's already causing, a great damage. So it's our duty to follow the health recommendations not only to protect ourselves but also to protect everyone else. So, let's talk about the masks! I LOVE how creative people became to protect themselves against the virus.

Yo os quiero proponer unas alternativas que creo que os van a gustar más. Quién nos iba a decir que una simple mascarilla se convertiría en un complemento tan importante. Puse un story en mi Instagram (alberto.monteagudo) para que me dijerais marcas que conocierais de primera mano, por lo tanto, las firmas que veréis a continuación son todas recomendaciones vuestras. Sé que hay muchísimas más, de hecho continuamente me sale publicidad en Instagram de muchas marcas que están comercializando mascarillas, pero quería centrar este post en recomendaciones personales. Antes de nada, me gustaría recordaros que estas mascarillas son decorativas y por lo tanto, no sustituyen a las mascarillas sanitarias, pero sí son un gran complemento para llevar por encima de las mascarillas médicas.

I want to propose some alternatives that I think you're gonna like more. Who would expect that a simple mask could become in such an important accesory. I posted a story on my Instagram account (alberto.monteagudo) so you could tell me brands that you really know so, all the brands in this post are your own recommendations. I know there're many more. Actually, most of the spam within my Instagram stories is about brands which sell mask but I wanted to focus this post just on personal recommendations. First of all, I'd like to remind you that these masks are mainly deocrative so they shouldn't be used as a substitute for the medical mask, although they're such a great accesory to cover your own medical mask.

Aunque lo suyo son los uniformes, también se han atrevido con las mascarillas. Llevan un filtro de papel vegetal, el cual se puede quitar para que puedas lavar la mascarilla y desinfectarla.

La mochila Kanken de Fjällräven, el accesorio que no dejas de ver por todas partes

Sí, sé que las has visto muchas veces, incluso más de las que te gustaría, y es que el éxito de las mochilas Kanken de Fjällräven sigue creciendo.
I’m sure you’ve seen it plenty to times, maybe with more frequency that you would had wanted to. The fact is that the number Kanken bags by Fjällräven and their success keep growing ad growing.

Fjällräven (cuya traducción es algo así como ''zorro de montaña'') es una marca de moda sueca que lleva 50 años creando prendas cómodas y duraderas pensadas para entornos menos urbanos. Ropa, tiendas de campaña, sacos de dormir,... y muchos otros productos creados para disfrutar al aire libre.
Fjällräven (which means something like “mountain fox”) is a Swedish fashion brand which started its journey into the industry 50 years ago creating comfortable and durable clothes addressed to an audience who like to enjoy a less urban environment. As I’ve said, clothes, but also tents, sleeping bags,... and many other products thought to enjoy into the fresh air.

Pero hoy en día, la moda cada vez tiene menos límites. Ni las faldas son solo para chicas, no pasa nada por mezclar cuadros con rayas, y un chandal ya no sirve solo para hacer deporte. Pues algo parecido le ha pasado al modelo de mochila Kanken, ya que se ha consolidado como una de las prendas indies por excelencia.
But the truth is that nowadays, fashion boundaries are falling apart. Skirts are not only for girls, it’s totally acceptable to combine stripes and squares, and a tracksuit can be wore not only for practicing sports. Something similar has happened to the Kanken bag, as it has acquired the title of one of the most desirable indie piece of clothing.

Pero lo cierto es que el primer modelo de mochila Kanken se creó en 1978 con la intención de suplir las necesidades de la población sueca. El entorno, las condiciones climatológicas de la zona y el estilo de vida de sus habitantes llevaron a Fjällräven a diseñar y fabricar una mochila más ergonómica debido a su tamaño reducido, y de un material muy ligero y que además absorbe el agua y la nieve.

Here’s a little bit of history. The first model of the Kanken bag was created in 1978 with the purpose of fulfilling the needs of the Swedish population. The environment, the weather conditions of the area and the life style of the people led Fjällräven to desig and produce a more ergonomic bag due to its small size. It’s also made of a very light material which also absorbs water and snow.

El modelo que se vende actualmente sigue siendo el mismo que el de 1978. Yo confieso que no la tengo y, sinceramente, tampoco me llama la atención, pero porque tampoco uso mochilas ni bolsos en mi día a día, y no soy partidario de comprarme algo por el simple hecho de que esté de moda. Aunque reconozco que la variedad de colores y tamaños la convierte en un accesorio bastante atractivo, y que parece que se adapta bastante bien tanto a un look más formal como a uno más casual.
The Kanken bag that you see nowadays is the same one that the one which came out in 1978. I admit that I don’t have it and, honestly, I don’t really want it. I’m not that kind of guy who uses bags and I’m not really into buying something because it has become fashionable and I know for sure that I’m not gonna use. Though I appreciate the variety of colors and sizes. The desig is quite attractive to, it looks appropriate both for a more formal look and a casual one.

9 normas de estilo que te encantará romper!

En la moda, como en (prácticamente) todo, existen ciertas reglas. Aunque dichas reglas también pueden, y a veces deben, romperse. Rosa y rojo, azul marino y negro, rayas con cuadros... todos hemos oído alguna vez los colores o los estampados que no deben mezclarse pero, mi pregunta es, ¿y por qué no? A continuación van unos cuantos looks que demuestran no solo que esas combinaciones que algunos claman imposibles, son muy posibles, si no que además algunas están más de moda que nunca y dominan el street style:

There're some rules when it comes to fashion, as it happens with (almost) everything in life. Such rules also can be (and sometimes they must be) broken. Pink and red, dark blue and black, stripes and squares... we've all heard at some point which colors or prints shouldn't be worn together but, my question is, why not? Here they come some outfits which show not only that such combinations are beyond possible but also that they're trendier than ever, ruling the street style:

1. ROJO & ROSA

Los eternos enemigos. Una de las relaciones de amor-odio más extendidas por todo el planeta (rosa y rojo, puñetazo en el ojo). En realidad, son dos colores muy parecidos y que dan lugar a combinaciones muy resultonas:

1. RED & PINK
The eternal enemies. I think this is one of the most international love-hate relationships that exists. Actually, both colors are quite similar and personally, I think that they create real interesting combinations:

2. ROSA & NARANJA

Forman parte del mismo círculo cromático, una cualidad que hace que para muchos esta sea una combinación difícil de ver. Yo, particularmente, no lo encuentro la dificultad por ninguna parte. Además de dar como resultado un look muy alegre y lleno de vitalidad:

2. PINK & ORANGE
Both belong to the same chromatic circle. Some might think that this quality make both colors incompatible. I, particularly, don't find the incompatibility anywhere. Besides, the combination makes the outfit quite fun and full of vitality:

3. AZUL CELESTE & ROSA BEBÉ

Para empezar, debemos de romper con la horrible tradición de vestir a los niños de azul y a las niñas de rosa. Es machista y muy pasado de moda. Segundo, son perfectamente combinables, una unión bastante tierna:

3. LIGHT BLUE & BABY PINK
To begin with, we should break with that awful tradition of wearing boys in blue and girls in pink. It's old-fashioned and sexist. Secondly, they're very combatible and the result is very cute, actually:

4. NEGRO & MARRÓN

Dicen que el negro y el marrón es una combinación difícil. También dicen que el negro combina con todo. Yo me decanto por lo segundo. Si no te sientes muy cómod@ usando estos dos colores juntos, empieza por vestir de negro y usar accesorios en marrón. El camel también es una buena opción para empezar a usar ambos colores juntos:

4. BLACK & BROWN
Many people agree that this is a difficult combination. But, people also say that black is a color that matches with everything. I agree more with te second statement. If you don't feel comfortable wearing these two colors together, you can start by wearing all black and using brown accessories. Camel is a perfect choice to start dressing in black and brown:

5. NEGRO & AZUL MARINO

Sinceramente, no sé por qué se ha dicho siempre que estos dos colores no casan. He investigado un poco y parece que tiene una base histórica (por lo visto, en la Edad Media el negro lo vestía la clase alta y el azul el pueblo llano). Sea cual sea la razón, yo los encuentro súper compatibles. Eso sí, mi consejo es que sean colores bloque. Juzgar vosotr@s mism@s con las siguientes fotos:

5. BLACK & DARK BLUE
Honestly, I really don't know where this incompatibility comes from. I've researched a little bit and it seems to have a sort o historical basis (in the Middle Ages, the upper class used to dress in black and the lower class wore blue). Being this the real reason or not, I like how they look together. The only advice I can give you is that you use block colors. Judge yourself the pictures:

6. RAYAS & CUADROS

Sin duda, arriesgado, pero no imposible. Eso sí, ambos estampados tienen que estar en su justa medida. Un truco, intenta que ambos estampados compartan las mismas tonalidades (cuadros y rayos en negro y blanco suelen funcionar bastante bien). Por cierto, es aconsejable que uno de los estampados destaque más que el otro:
6. STRIPES & SQUARES
This is, with no doubt, a risky combination, but not impossible. If you wear them together, make sure you don't overdo your outfit. A trick might be that both prints share the same hues (black and white stripes and squares should work). Besides, I recommend you that one of the prints stand out upon the other:

7. DENIM TOTAL LOOK

Para mi es una tendencia que nunca pasa de moda y con la que se pueden conseguir grandes looks. Unos 501, una cazadora o una camisa vaqueras son fondo de armario. El truco para combinarlos: elige distintos tonos de denim e intenta aportar un toque de color con algún accesorio:

7. DENIM TOTAL LOOK
For me, this is a tendency which never gets old and that allows youto create amazing outfits. A pair of 501, or a denim jacket or shirt are basics that you must have in your closet. The trick to wear a denim total look: choose different denim hues and try to include a touch of color with an accessory:

8. ANIMAL PRINT TOTAL LOOK

Una combinación arriesgada pero que puede ser todo un éxito. El ser humano lleva vistiendo animal print desde que usaban las pieles de los animales que cazaban para vestirse. A lo largo de la historia, su uso ha estado ligando a distintas clases sociales (a la realeza, por ejemplo) y ha sido sinónimo de alguna corriente estética (como la punk en los 70 y 80). Atrévete a mezclar distintos tipos de animal print, o a mezclarlo con otros estampados!:

8. ANIMAL PRINT TOTAL LOOK
A very risky combination, but it can be a huge success. The human being has been wearing animal print since we used to wear the skin of the animals that we hunted. Through history, its use has been associated to different social classes (such as royalty), and it's been also the symbol of some aesthetic trend (for instance, the punk movement durint the 70s and 80s). Dare to mix different animal prints or combine it with another prints!:

9. SANDALIAS & CALCETINES

Reconozco que, personalmente, no soy muy fan de esta moda, pero no por nada en concreto. A la hora de vestir hay que tener personalidad y criterio. Esta es una combinación que no uso pero porque, sencillamente, no va con mi estilo, aunque admito que hay gente con mucho rollo y que sabe defenderla:

9. SANDALS & SOCKS
I recognize that, personally, I'm not a huge fan of this trend. I don't really have anything about it, it's just that I think that when it comes to your own style, you should have personality and be honest to your own taste. I don't wear sandals with socks 'cause, honestly, it doesn't suit me. But I do admit that there're people who kill it:

Este año creo que me he portado bastante bien, así que espero que no sea muy tarde para escribiros la carta. A lo mejor me excedo un poquito con la lista de cosas que os piso, pero sois tres, así que estoy seguro de que os las podréis apañar. Sorprende A Papá En Su Día!

El Día del Padre está cada vez más cerca. El próximo domingo 19 de marzo, para ser más exactos. Si eres de los que, al igual yo, nunca sabe qué regalarle (como si no tuviéramos bastante con pensar qué regalar por el cumpleaños y en Navidades) aquí os dejo unos ''superconsejitos'' para sorprender a vuestros padres.

Sabéis el refrán ese que dice ''más vale malo conocido que bueno por conocer''? Pues en este caso no se aplica en absoluto. Here in Spain we say something like ''a known evil is better than a unknown good''. Well, this saying is completely useless this time. Pikachu!

Este Pikachu es un amiibo. Yo tampoco sabía lo que era, pero básicamente un amiibo es una figura (también hay amiibos en forma de tarjetas) que se usan para conseguir bonificaciones y otros beneficios extras. Yo no tengo ninguna consola con la que poder usarlo, pero me da igual, como maestro Pokemon que pretendo ser, este Pikachu es el compi perfecto!

This one is an amiibo. I didn't know what an amiibo was but, basically, it is a figure (it can be also a card) that can be used to get bonus and other extra benefits. I don't have any game console to use it but I don't mind because, as the Pokemon master that I wish to become, Pikachu is the perfect mate!

Hay un regalito más que no lo tengo aquí en Barcelona, por eso no hay foto, que es el pack de Axe Signature Trio Edition, con un gel de ducha, un desodorante anti-transpirante y anti-manchas y una colonia. El diseño del pack y de los productos es muy chulo, y huele todo súper bien!

There's one more gift, but I couldn't take a pic of it 'cause I don't have it here with me in Barcelona. The design of the pack is pretty cool and everything smells so good!

Para empezar, son alemanes. Lo que es muy buena señal, porque otra cosa no, pero en términos de eficiencia, los alemanas saben un rato largo.
