Este Pikachu es un amiibo. Yo tampoco sabía lo que era, pero básicamente un amiibo es una figura (también hay amiibos en forma de tarjetas) que se usan para conseguir bonificaciones y otros beneficios extras. Yo no tengo ninguna consola con la que poder usarlo, pero me da igual, como maestro Pokemon que pretendo ser, este Pikachu es el compi perfecto!

This one is an amiibo. I didn't know what an amiibo was but, basically, it is a figure (it can be also a card) that can be used to get bonus and other extra benefits. I don't have any game console to use it but I don't mind because, as the Pokemon master that I wish to become, Pikachu is the perfect mate!

Models | From Wearing Fashion To Designing It

Por muy bien que un@ se conserve, la vida de modelo no dura eternamente, y es necesario tener un plan B. Estamos acostumbrados a que modelos de renombre enfoquen su vida profesional al mundo de la actuación, aunque también las hay que se atreven como diseñadoras. Y es que pasar tanto tiempo entre diseños y diseñadores, tiene que dejar huella de alguna forma.

It's true that the majority of the models have the gift of keeping themselves fit and young, but their career doesn't last forever. That's when a plan B seems to be convenient. We're used to seeing well-known models who redirect their professional lives to the acting world. Althoug, there're a bunch of them that also dare to become designers of their own brands. It seems that spending such a lot of time among designers and designs leave somehow a print on them.

Gucci, Versace, Prada... Todo el mundo habla de ellos, pero a mi me gusta lo diferente, lo diferente de verdad. Aire fresco, desenfado... así es MARCO MARCO Underwear, una firma que abraza la diversidad en el sentido más amplio de la palabra, que rompe barreras y va más allá de lo políticamente correcto. Eso hace de sus desfiles un auténtico espectáculo. Quién quiere tener a una 90-60-90 cuando puedes tener a un extenso repertorio de transformistas, transexuales y, en general, a un extenso colectivo LGTB desfilando sin pudores, comiéndose la pasarela a casa paso y llenando el show de color, picardía y mucha alegría! Su lema en su Instagram es ''designing hot shit for celebs and sexy undies for dudes'' (creo que eso lo dice todo, no?)

Model of the Month | David Gandy

Muy buenas fashioneros! Cómo estáis?

Hoy os presento una nueva sección que, como su propio nombre indica, será mensual. Y, aunque l@s candidat@s para esta sección son much@s, he decidido inaugurarla con un modelo tan alto como guapo: David James Gandy (www.davidjamesgandy.com)

David Gandy empezó en el mundo de la moda con 21 años, y aunque hoy en día es todo un referente masculino y uno de los mejores modelos a nivel internacional, sus principios no fueron fáciles. En una industria en la que reinaba la androginia y los cuerpos muy delgados, supo hacerse un hueco con sus casi 190cm de estatura y su figura apolínea. 

Nació en 1980 en Billericay (Inglaterra), y empezó en el mundo de la moda gracias a sus compañeros de piso que lo inscribieron en un concurso de moda sin él saberlo, ganando un contrato con la agencia Select Model Management, y que todavía sigue siendo su agencia. En 2006, Dolce&Gabbana, una de las firmas para la que más ha posado, lo convirtió en imagen de la firma, y en el 2007 protagonizó la campaña que lo hizo más conocido, la de la fragancia Light Blue de D&G, con más de 11 millones de visitas online y un cartel de 15 metros en pleno Times Square.

Datos curiosos son, por ejemplo, las 16 portadas de revista y las 18 editoriales de moda que hizo solo en el 2012, además de participar en la ceremonia de clausura de los Juegos Olímpicos junto a Naomi Campbell y Kate Moss, entre otros, en el mismo año.

Además de modelo, David Gandy también es columnista en la revista de moda masculina GQ ('David Gandy Drives'), en la cual habla sobre una de sus pasiones, el mundo del motor, y también tiene un blog en la revista Vogue. También participa activamente con organizaciones benéficas, y el año pasado lanzó su propia línea de ropa interior con la multinacional inglesa Mark & Spencer.

Hello fashion friends! How are you?

Today I want to bring a new section that, as its own name indicates, it'll be brought monthly. And, though the candidates for this section are huge, I've decided to start it with a model who's as tall as handsome: David James Gandy (www.davidjamesgandy.com)

David Gandy started in the fashion world when he was 21. Although nowadays he's a male referent and one of the best international models, his beginnings weren't as easy as you may think. In an industry ruled by skinny and androginous models, he was able to make a name with his almost 190cm height and his classically handsome body.

He was born in 1980 in Billericay (England), and he walked into the fashion world thanks to his homemates who inscribed him at a fashion contest, winning a contract with the agency Select Model Management, still his agency. In 2006, Dolce&Gabbana, one of the firms that he has worked more for, turned him into its face, and in 2007 he did the campaign that made him most known, that for the perfume Light Blue of D&G, with more than 11 million online visits and a poster of 15 meters in the middle of Times Square.

Some curious data is, for instance, the 16 mag covers and the 18 fashion editorials he did in 2012, apart from participating at the closure ceremony of the Olympic Games the same year with Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss, among others, the same year.

Calvin Klein ''Models''

La última campaña publicitaria de Calvin Klein ha dado mucho de que hablar, y es que el chico del ''baby, baby, baby.. ooohh'' ha dejado de ser un niño y ha crecido, vamos que si ha crecido. Si Justin Bieber hace un tiempo revolucionaba a medio mundo con sus canciones, ahora lo hace con sus escándalos y con sus fotos controvertidas.

Se ha comentado/criticado mucho la cantidad de Photoshop que las fotos de Justin Bieber para la última campaña de CK presuntamente tienen, sobre todo en ciertas partes pudientas (todos sabemos de qué partes estoy hablando). Como no voy a ser yo el que ponga en duda los atributos del señorito Bieber, de lo que quiero hablaros es del uso que Calvin Klein (y muchísimas otras marcas) hacen de los famosos como reclamo publicitario, y más tratándose de ropa interior. Porque que la carne vende es un hecho, y si esa ''carne'' es de un famoso, vende aún más.

Así que he hecho un poco de research, y os traigo unas cuantas fotos de chicos famosos cuyas principales profesiones no son las de modelo, y que en algún momento han lucido, al igual que Bieber, unos calzoncillos Calvin Klein. Además me gustaría saber si pensáis que el tema de posar debería restringirse a los modelos o si por el contrario estáis de acuerdo con que los famosos también lo hagan, y viendo estas imágenes... ¿quién creéis que los luce mejor?

The last Calvin Klein advertising campaing has created a lot of controversy. The boy who used to sing ''baby, baby, baby.. ooohh'' is no longer a kid and he's grown up indeed. If Justin Bieber revolutionized the world some time ago with his songs, he now does it with his scandals and his provocative pictures.

It's been commented/criticized the amount of Photoshop that his pics for the last CK campaign presumably has, above all at certain intimate parts (we all now what I'm talking about). As I do not pretend to question the attributes of Mr Bieber, what I want is to talk about the fact that Calvin Klein (and many other firms) use famous people as an advertising strategy, more evident when it comes to sell underwear. Because we all know that flesh sells, and if that ''flesh'' belongs to a celeb, it sells even more.

So, I've done a little research, and I've brought several pictures of famous men whose main occupations have nothing to do with modelling and who have wore at some point Calvin Klein underwear. as Bieber's done. Besides, I'd like to know if you think that the issue of posing should be restricted to models or if, by the contrary, you agree with celebs doing this job too. By the way, who wears it better??

Get ready for the last night of the year!

Fin de año está a la vuelta de la esquina (como que es mañana!) Sí, ya ha pasado otro año.... Y entre tanta comida/merienda/cena familiar típica de estas fechas, toca hacer balance y plantearse nuevos propósitos para el 2015, y quien dice nuevos, dice los mismos de siempre, esos que nunca se acaban cumpliendo: ponerse a dieta, aprender idiomas, hacer más ejercicio... que os voy a decir que no sepáis!

Dejando todo esto a un lado, también toca elegir modelito para despedir el 2014 y darle la bienvenida al nuevo año. Si hace 365 días os dejaba un post con algunas propuestas para ir requeteguapos por fuera, ahora os traigo otro pero para ir requeteguapos por dentro.

De todos es sabido que, aparentemente, da suerte empezar el año con ropa interior roja. Yo no sé si eso será cierto, pero por intentarlo que no quede, no? Me he documentado (sí, lo sé, estoy que me salgo) y algunos de los significados del color ROJO son el poder, la vitalidad y la ambición, además de aportar coraje, confianza y optimismo, por no hablar de que es el color por excelencia del amor, el deseo y la pasión. New Year's Eve is just around the corner (actually, it's tomorrow!) Another year is about to finish.... and within so many family meals and suppers so typical of this time of the year, we have to look back and make some new resolutions for 2015. Well... they don't have to be that new, we can always call upon those resolutions we never fulfil: get on a diet, learn another language, work out... well, nothing new you don't know yet!

Leaving all of that aside, we also have to choose a proper outfit to say farewell to 2014 and welcome the new year. If 365 days ago I wrote a post with some ideas to look magnificent on the outside, now I want you to look magnfiicent on the inside as well.

It is well known that, apparently, starting a new year with red underwear brings luck. I don't know if that's true or not, but there's nothing wrong with trying it, right? I've made some research (yes, I know, I'm surprised with myself too) and some of the meanings associated to the colour RED are power, vitality and ambition; it also gives courage, self-confidence and optimism, and it's also the colour of love, desire and passion. It doesn't matter if you don't believe in that stuff, because it's a really nice colour in any case! So here you have some proposals just in case you still don't have the entire equipment.
