Jeff Jones, un cazatalentos, lo fichó en 1992 para la revista de hip hop The Source, y en 1993 fue fichado por Ralph Lauren como imagen de la línea deportiva masculina Polo.  En 1995 VH1 lo nombró ''Man of the Year'' y la revista People lo incluyó en su lista ''50 Most Beautiful People in the World''. 
He's from a family of a Afro-Jamaican father of Panamanian descent and a Chinese Jamaican mother. Jeff Jones, a talent scout, recruited him in 1992 for the hip hop magazine The Source. In 1993 Tyson was recruited by Ralph Lauren as the front model for the company's Polo line of male sportswear. In 1995, he was named by VH1 as ''Man of the Year'' and People magazine included him on the list ''50 Most Beautiful People in the World''.

Los ''top models'' las prefieren rubias...

Vamos a ver por dónde empiezo... Creo que nunca había estado tan nervioso a la hora de escribir un post! Pero es que todo lo que está pasando en el universo #Rubijarena es muy fuerte y tenía que desahogarme contándolo por aquí!

Por un lado, desde que tengo el blog siempre había querido dedicarle una entrada a Jon Kortajarena. En verdad no sé por qué no llegué a escribirla cuando hacía la sección Model of the Month. Cualquiera que me conoce sabe que es mi modelo favorito. Lo sigo en todas las redes sociales. De hecho, el es uno de los pocos famosos a los que acoso sigo...

Por otro lado está La vecina rubia, a la que sigo desde hace algún tiempo. Ella encarna esa vecina que todo el mundo quisiera y debería tener y esa rubia que a todo el mundo le gustaría como amiga. A su manera, es toda una influencer, en el mejor de lo sentidos. Solo necesita su chupa amarilla y un puñado de ilusiones (que por cierto, siempre le quedan muy bonitas) para hacer del mundo un lugar un poquito mejor. Tiene tropecientos mil seguidores en las redes sociales. Es divertida, pero sin reírse a costa de nadie. Y aunque sea rubia, es muy lista. Lo mismo te habla de su pelazo como de política. Sus consultas a la RAE son súper útiles (o debería decir superútiles?), y está muy comprometida con las causas sociales, al igual que su novio, Jon, reciente embajador de Greenpeace.

Su historia de amor ha salido hasta en el HOLA, pero vayamos por partes. Ya que hablo de Jon, os voy a contar (muy brevemente) un poquito de su vida y carrera. Es de Bilbao (los del norte somos de lo mejorcito que hay, a las pruebas me remito), tiene 31 años y su madre (que es guapísima, todo hay que decirlo) es la única que le corta el pelo (perdón, el pelazo). Es el modelo español masculino más internacional. Armani, Galliano, Cavalli, Gaultier o Ferragamo son solo algunas de las grandes casas para las que ha trabajado, por no hablar de Tom Ford, para el cual no sólo ha trabajado como modelo si no también como actor en su primera película, A Single Man. Puedes verlo como actor en la serie Quantico interpretando el papel de Félix y también en el último largometraje de Eduardo Casanova, Pieles. Como os había dicho, Kortajarena es nuevo embajador de Greenpeace. Como amante de la naturaleza que es, ha iniciado una campaña para luchar contra el cambio climático en la que nos anima a firmar para salvar nuestro mundo (puedes firmar haciendo click AQUÍ). Veis? Hay mucho envidioso que dice que lo suyo es mentira, o que Jon solo le sigue el rollo, pero yo estoy totalmente convencido de su amor!

Let's see if I can focus, 'cause I hadn't ever been so nervous before writing a post! The thing is that everything that's happening within the #Rubijarena universe is so exciting that I felt the need to write it down!

On one side, since I started writing this blog, I've always wanted to publish a post about Jon Kortajarena. Actually, I don't really know why I didn't do it when I had the section called Model of the Month. Anyone who knows me is conscious that he's my favourite model. I follow him in every social network. In fact, he's one of the few famous people that I stalk follow...

On the other side, there's La vecina rubia (the blonde neighbour). I've been following her since quite a while. She's that neighbour that everyone would like to (and should) have and she's also that blonde woman that anyone would wish to have as a friend. She could be considered an influencer, in the most positive way. She only needs her yellow biker and a bunch of dreams (which, by the way, are always really beautiful) to make the world a better place. She has thousands of followers. She's fun without hurting anyone. And, even though she's blond, she's so smart. She can talk about her great hair and easily change the subject and talk about politics. Her queries to the RAE are really helpful and she's quite committed to social causes, the same as Jon, who's a recent ambassador of Greenpeace.

Her love story appeared even in the Spanish magazine HOLA, but let me talk about Jon first, I promise I'll be very brief. He's from Bilbao (those who are from the North of Spain, like me, are really worth it), he's 31 years old and his mother (who is really beautiful, truth be told) is the one with permission to cut Jon's hair (sorry, Jon's great hair). He's the most international Spanish male model. He's worked for great fashion firms such as Armani, Galliano, Cavalli, Gaultier or Ferragamo, and these are just a few. His relationship with Tom Ford is beyond great. Jon's worked for him as a model and also as an actor in Tom's first film, A Single Man. You can see Jon as an actor at Quantico's TV show as Félix and also in the last Eduardo Casanova's film, Pieles. As I told you, he's the new ambassador of Greenpace. He loves nature so much and that's why he's decided to start a fight against climate change. If you wanna help him to save the world, you just have to click HERE and sigh. Well, I think it was quite brief, wasn't it?

Both Jon and la vecina rubia (the blonde neighbour) have appeared in several social media lately. What started as an innocent flirtation, it has turned into the gread romance of this year. Their followers are looking forward to seeing how their relationship evolves. There're so many jealous people who say that what they have is a complete lie, or that Jon is just going along with her, but I'm completely convinced that their love is real!

Llevo algo de tiempo sin publicar pero es que he estado a tope las últimas semanas. Don't worry que siempre vuelvo!

Pues bien, este post sobre un nuevo ''modelo del mes'' va dedicado a Sean O'Pry (@Seanopry55), y es que las cosas como son, el chico se lo merece. Sean ya ha sido mencionado un par de veces en este blog. Este joven modelo estadounidense de 25 años (lo sé, parece mayor) nació en Georgia en 1989 y fue descubierto como modelo en el 2006 gracias a las fotos que el propio Sean colgó en su MySpace (sí, esa red social tan vintage) de la noche de su promoción.

Calvin Klein, Versace, Dolce&Gabbana, Marc Jacobs o DKNY son solo unas pocas de las muchas campañas publicitarias y editoriales en las que Sean O'Pry ha colaborado. En cuanto a pasarela, ha desfilado para Yves Saint Laurent, Givenchy, Moschino, Salvatore Ferragamo, Trussardi, Roberto Cavalli o Chanel, entre otros. Y, como os comentaba en el anterior post, ha participado en los videoclips 'Girl Gone Wild' de Madonna y más recientemente en 'Blank Space' de Taylor Swift.

La revista Forbes declaró en 2009 a Sean como el modelo masculino con más éxito. En 2013 O'Pry aparecía en el Top 50 del portal models.com como el modelo masculino más exitoso, conservando esa posición al año siguiente. Además, también podemos encontrarlo en otras tres de sus listas: Super Mens List, Sexiest Men List y Money Guys List.

It's been quite a while without publishing a post but I've been beyond busy for the last weeks. Nevermind, I always come back!

So, this post about a new ''model of the month'' is focused on Sean O'Pry (@Seanopry55), y because being honest, he deserves it. Sean has being mentioned a couple of times in this blog. This young American model was born almost 26 years ago (I know, he looks older) in Georgia, and he was discovered in 2006 thanks to the prom pics that he uploaded on his MySpace (yes, that vintage social network).

Calvin Klein, Versace, Dolce&Gabbana, Marc Jacobs or DKNY are just some of the many campaings and editorials in which Sean 0'Pry has appeared. Regarding catwalks, he has walked for Yves Saint Laurent, Givenchy, Moschino, Salvatore Ferragamo, Trussardi, Roberto Cavalli or Chanel, among others. And, as I had mentioned in the latest post, he also appeared in a couple of music videos: Madonna's 'Girl Gone Wild' and more recently Taylor Swift's Blank Space'.

In 2009, Forbes mag declared Sean as the most succesful male model. In 2013, O'Pry was at the top of the Top 50 List at models.com as the most succesful male model, preserving the same title for two years. Besides, we can also find him in three more lists: Super Mens List, Sexiest Men List and Money Guys List.

Model of the Month | Cindy Crawford

Es una de las grandes tops de los 90 (otras coetáneas son, por ejemplo, Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Elle MacPherson o Claudia Schiffer). Cindy Crawford forma junto a todas ellas una generación de supermodelos que revolucionó el mundo de la moda hace un par de décadas.

Cynthia Ann Crawford (ese es su nombre real) nació hace casi 50 años en Illinois. Con 16 años, y mientras despanojaba maíz como parte de un trabajo de verano, un fotógrafo periodístico le sacó una foto. La repercusión que tuvo le bastó a Cindy para querer dedicarse al mundo de la moda, y con 17 años entró a formar parte de la agencia Elite Model Management. Cindy ha protagonizado más de 400 portadas de revistas. También ha hecho películas y series de televisión, además de tener su propio programa, acompañada siempre de ese lunar tan característico encima del labio.

Pero el motivo del que haya elegido hablar de Cindy Crawford (@CindyCrawford) ha sido la polémica que una foto suya tuvo hace unas semanas, En la foto en cuestión se muestra a una Cindy Crawford en lencería y con un cuerpo que, teniendo en cuenta la edad que tiene (49 primaveras, ni más ni menos), podría ser la envidia de cualquier mujer de su edad. Ya si nos fijamos más detenidamente, en la foto se aprecian esas imperfecciones que surgen inevitablemente con la edad, y es que con 49 años la piel es imposible que esté tan firme y tersa como la de alguien de 20 años, por mucho ejercicio o dieta sana que hagas.

Pues bien, en un principio Cindy declaró que la foto no tenía retoques, que ella era así tal cual. Sin embargo, a los pocos días, la top decidió tomar medidas legales ya que, por lo visto, la foto sí que había sido retocado, pero a peor.

La verdad es que esta foto pertenece a una sesión que la top protagonizó para una publicación mexicana en el 2013. Las fotos no deberían haber salido sin retocar, pero sin saber cómo, se filtró a la red y se convirtió en viral. Una de las consecuencias más inmediatas: tanto Cindy como la revista se han convertido, sin quererlo, en embajadoras de la ''belleza real''. Sea como sea, no se puede negar que Cindy está estupenda, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta su edad y que ha sido madre de dos hijos. Cynthia Ann Crawford (that's her real name) was born almost 50 years ago in Illinois. When she was 16, and while she was detasseling corn as part of a summer job, a journalist photographer took a picture of her. the repercusion that it had it was enough for Cindy to take the decision of becoming a model, and so when she was 17 she became part of the Elite Model Management model agency. Cindy has appeared in more than 400 magazine covers. She has also showed up at movies and TV series and conducted her own TV show, always with that particular mole upon her lip that makes her special.

The reason I've chosen to talk about Cindy Crawford (@CindyCrawford) was the controversy that a picture of her had some weeks ago. In that picture, she appears wearing linjerie as as part of a photoshoot and with a body that, taking into account her age (49 springs), it could be the envy of any woman of her age. If we look at it with greater detail, we can appreciate those imperfections that inevitably emerge as we grow old. The truth is that the skin of a mature woman can't be as firm and smooth as that of a 20-year-old girl, even though you follow a healthy diet and a lot of work out.

Initially, Cindy declared that the picture hadn't been retouched, that her body is as we see it in the pic. Nevertheless, a few days later, the top decided to take some legal measures because, as it seems, the picture had been retouched indeed, but for the worst.

The truthe is that the picture belongs to a shooting that the top did for a Mexican publication in 2013. The pictures had to be retouched but it was leaked on the internet and it became viral. One of the most inmediate consequences: both Cindy and the magazine have become, unintentionally, as ambassadors of the ''real beauty''. Be that as it may, it can't be denied that Cindy looks incredible, above all taking into account her age and that she's a mother of two kids. OLE FOR YOU!!

Model of the Month | Gisele Bündchen

Ahora le llega el turno a la modelo mejor pagada del mundo. La verdad es que no tenía pensado dedicar la segunda entrada de esta sección a la modelo brasileña, hasta que hace poco leí una noticia que afecta a su carrera profesional.

No es nada de lo que preocuparse, seguiremos disfrutando de su 180 cm de estatura, su melena rubia y sus ojazos azules. La noticia a la que me refiero y la cual probablemente ya habréis oído, es que Gisele (@giseleofficial) abandona las pasarelas, pero seguirá siendo imagen de campañas y eventos. Después de 20 años desfilando, la Sao Paulo Fashion Week que tendrá lugar este mes en Brasil será testigo de los últimos desfiles de la modelo. 

Esta supermodelo, de raíces alemanas, tiene cinco hermanas más, una de ellas su gemela. Fue descubierta con trece años por un agente de modelos cuando se encontraba en un McDonalds. Tras varios desfiles en Brasil, Gisele se mudó a Nueva York donde debutó en la New York Fashion Week. A pesar de ser criticada por su nariz, la ex ángel de Victoria's Secret ha sido considerada como la modelo mejor pagada del mundo, llegando a cobrar entre 7.000 y 15.000 dólares por hora de aparición en algún evento. Además de desfilar y posar para las mejores marcas y de ser portada de numerosas revistas de moda, también ha hecho sus pinitos en el mundo del cine, como el papel secundario en la comedia Taxi y un par de apariciones en El Diablo Viste de Prada. Gisele ha sido nombrada como Modelo del Año por la revista Rolling Stone; Vogue ha llegado a considerarla como un punto de inflexión entre la delgadez de modelos como Kate Moss y el resurgir de las modelos con curvas y US Weekly le otorgó en su momento el título de busto perfecto.

La top model, casada con el jugador de fútbol americano Tom Brady y madre de dos niños, Benjamin de 6 años, y Vivian Lake de 3, ha decidido que ya es hora de disfrutar más de la familia. Desde luego, puede estar bien orgullosa de todo lo que ha logrado, y de que esta retirada que ha decidido tomar es más que merecida.

Now it's the turn for the best paid model all over the world. The truth is I haven't planned to write this second post of this section to the Brazilian model, but a recent piece of news about her professional career made me change my mind.

There's nothing to be worried about, we'll keep on enjoying her 180 cm of height, her blonde long hair and her beautiful blue eyes. The piece of news I was referring too and the one you probably already know is that Gisele (@giseleofficial) is leaving the runway, but she'll be still the face of events and campaings. After 20 years doing catwalks, the Sao Paulo Fashion Week that's taking place this month in Brazil will witness the last steps over a runway of the model.

This supermodel of German roots has five more sisters, one of them being her twin. She was discovered when she was 13 by a model agent when she was at a McDonalds. After several catwalks in Brazil, Gisele moved to New York when she debuted at the New York Fashion Week. Despite the criticisms about her nose, the ex Victoria's Secret angel has been considered as the best paid model in the world, receiving about 7,000 and 15,000 dollars just for one hour of appearance at an event. Apart from catwalking and posing for the best brands and being the cover of loads of fashion mags, she's also appeared in some movies, as the secondary role she had at the comedy Taxi, and a couple of appearances in Devil Wears Prada. Gisele's been named as Model of the Year by Rolling Stone mag. Vogue has considered her as an inflection point between the skinniness of models such as Kate Moss and the come back of models with curves, and US Weekly gave her the title of the perfect breast.

The top model, married with the American football player Tom Brady and mother of two kids, Benjamin (6) and Vivian Lake (3), has decided that it's time to start enjoying family more. She definitely can be very proud of everything she's accomplished and that this retirement she's decided to take is more than deserved.
