''Mask x Mask''

There's nothing I can tell you at this point about COVID-19 that you haven't already heard or seen or been told. I really hope that you and all your family and friends are fine. Though it seems that, very slowly, things are getting back to normal again, we can't forget that this virus has caused, and it's already causing, a great damage. So it's our duty to follow the health recommendations not only to protect ourselves but also to protect everyone else. So, let's talk about the masks! I LOVE how creative people became to protect themselves against the virus.

I want to propose some alternatives that I think you're gonna like more. Who would expect that a simple mask could become in such an important accesory. I posted a story on my Instagram account (alberto.monteagudo) so you could tell me brands that you really know so, all the brands in this post are your own recommendations. I know there're many more. Actually, most of the spam within my Instagram stories is about brands which sell mask but I wanted to focus this post just on personal recommendations. First of all, I'd like to remind you that these masks are mainly deocrative so they shouldn't be used as a substitute for the medical mask, although they're such a great accesory to cover your own medical mask.

I know there're plenty of brands which have also launched their own masks. Prices may very but trust me when I tell you that the ones that I've shown you are very affordable.

There's no doubt that Rosalía has become the greatest Spanish revelation of 2018. She's conquered the country since she released Malamente, the first single of her second studio album El Mal Querer. And she's been unstoppable since then. There's no grays with Rosalía: either you love her, or you don't love her that much (''hate'' is such an ugly word). Some people call her ''The Spanish Beyoncé'' and other compare her with the new Lola Flores. What's true is that this 25-year-old Catalonian girl knows what she wants, and her mixture of trap music and flamenco is a huge success.

If you wish to know more things about her personal life and professional career, I recommend you to take a look to this link (HERE). But, as a starter, I'll tell you that we'll see Rosalía next year in the big screen in Dolor y gloria (Pain and glory), the next Pedro Almodóvar's movie, together with Penélope Cruz and Antonio Banderas. Besides, she's a great friend of Amaia, the winner of Operación Triunfo 2017, and it's quite likely to see a featuring between them very soon.

Sencillamente brutal).
But I'm not writing this post to talk about Rosalía's success within the music industry (btw, you MUST watch her performance at the MTV EMAs '18 that took place here in Spain, in Bilbao, on 4th November. Simply amazing).

The name of this blog is #aRIDEthroughFASHION for a reason. It's true that I like talking about other things that I like such as travels and food, but fashion is the essence of this whole thing. I'm not be talking about Rosalía's personal style (though, you should know that Spanish designers such as María Escoté and Palomo Spain are responsible of her latest outfits). This post is about her first capsule collection that she'll be launching together with Pull&Bear, PULL&BEARbyROSALÍA.

The collection is out today, 12th November, both in physical stores and online. And, being Rosalía the face of the collection, there're pieces with the slogans Malamente and Tra Tra. The collection is formed by 18 pieces such as crop-top hoodies and tees, fabrics such as denim, plush and fleece, and colors such as withe and black, but also red, green and purple

I don't wanna miss the chance to wish Rosalía luck on 15th November at the Latin Grammys. She'll be performing there and she also has five nominations. Break a leg!

The XXII edition of the 080 Barcelona Fashion, the Catalonian fashion week, took place last week. 27 designers and brands participated in this edition, in which we had some new faces, as it was the case of Killing Weekend with ''Orígenes'', Xevi Fernández with ''Five Minuts Glory'' and Z1 with ''Negativity''.

The location for this last edition was once again the Recinto Modernista de Sant Pau, and its amazing outside embraced the 080 Fashion Market and the stands of more than 15 sponsors and collaborators. On the runway there were well-known faces such as Joana Sanz, Juan Betancourt and Piero Méndez, but also off the runway, such as Rebeca from A Trendy Life, Natalia Cabezas from Trendy Taste and Jon Gómez.

In this edition, apart from attending the opening act, I also had the chance to discover the proposals for the next SS19 season of OSCARLEON, Lebor Gabala, Mans Concept Menswear, Krizia Robustella and Manuel Bolaño. (You can see all the pictures and videos of all the shows by clicking HERE)

Under the name of ''Simply Life'', OSCARLEON showed us a very intimate and personal collection, in which the main protagonists were the T-shirts with all those sentences full of meaning the let us see the vulnerability of the human being. The predominant colors were the black and the white, using the red sometimes to add a touch of color.

''Memorias'', by Lebor Gabala, is a collection full of timeless pieces. I loved the masculine-cut blazers and the freshness of the whole collection, in terms of fabrics, print and colors. It is actually a very modern collection, though the memory transports us to the 80s, making it even more lovely.

Lebor Gabala ''Memorias'' SS19

Y no me decepcionó.
I was really looking forward to watching Mans Concept Menswear proposals. I had to chance to see his previous collection in the XXI edition and it blew my mind (that collection won the Government of Catalonia National Prize for Emerging Design), so my expectations were quite big. And it wasn't disappointing at all. ''Mans House'' took us to Berlin during the 90s, after the fall of the wall, to see how boys at that time explored their recent freedom through out different artistic disciplines. The looks of the collection are rough and powerful, but delicate at the same time.

Mans Concept Menswear ''Mans House'' SS19

I always love Krizia Robustella's proposals. Her collections are like an earthquake and her shows are just the icing on the cake. Let me remind you that in the previous edition of the 080 she won the Government of Catalonia National Prize for the Best Collection. ''Fancy Feast'' is her proposal for the next SS19 season, and it was left clear that she knows how to throw a party. The pieces of her last collection are sparkling and full of filmy fabrics. Excess is the word. But a party with no excess, it's not a real party.

There is no doubt that Manuel Bolaño was one of the most expected designers of this edition. Truth be told, everyone missed him at the 080. And he did it beyond great last week. I also have to admit that he's one of my favorite designers. His show was amazing, with several flashlights and photographers distributed all over the rainbow to take pictures of the models as they passed by. His ''Plan B'' let us to enjoy the past, present, and future of the Atelier Bolaño, where black was the main protagonist of most of the pieces, all of them a clear proof of how great he is as a designer.

Ze García will be the first one on the runway at the #080BCNFashion, on Monday 29th, at 20:30. The 21st edition is getting closer and everyday we're knowing more things about the 32 designers and brands that will exhibit their proposals for the next F/W 18/19

José María García González (right above at the pic and owner, founder and currect designer Ze García) has decided to follow the steps of Dolce & Gabbana and give us a show full of influencers. Let me refresh your memory. Last year, Dolce & Gabbana presented the collection ''I Nuovi Principi'' F/W 17/18 with the real princes and princesses of the social media, that is, the best of the best in terms of bloggers and ingluencers. Among them, we could find the Spaniards Pelayo Díaz and Sergio Carvajal, and also the Stallone sisters (SophiaSistine and Scarlet), Sofia Richie and Levi Dylan, and many others.

What we already know is that the most famous influencer of Spain, Dulceida, will hit the runway with the designs of Ze García new collection named ''Millennial Couture''. Dulceida had already trusted in Ze García with her wedding dress. Another possible candidates for the show are the models and instagramers Marta Lozano and Jéssica Goicoechea.

Wish the 29th was tomorrow 'cause I'm fully ready to see what Ze García is gonna offer. I'll be there with my phone fully charged to heat up instagram with #Zemillennialcouture and #080BCNFashion!!

Sorprende A Papá En Su Día!

These socks are made for walking!

Fa-king Unicorn

Father's Day in Spain is so close. Actually, it's talking place on 19th March. If you, like me, never know what to buy him (with the birthday and Christmas is enough effort), here I give you some tips so you can surprise your fathers.

Here in Spain we say something like ''a known evil is better than a unknown good''. Well, this saying is completely useless this time. The brands I show you today, though they might be unknown to you, are really well known by me. In fact, I've collaborated with most of them, and they're the best of the best! And, what's even better, they're made in Spain!

1. Balibur is alays a right choice. Their shirts are amazing. They care a lot about the product and defend quality above quantity, and that's something to take really into account. Whether your father likes to dress more classic or, on the contrary, more sportiveBalibur shirts fit any style! Turn Father's Day into a #momentoBalibur!

2. Summer time is also really close. We're welcoming spring this month. We have more sun light during the day and less cold, and the nice temperatures are beginning to show up. And what's better to protect yourself from the sun rays? A pair of sunglasses, of course. And what are the best? The answer is Flamingo Parade. Handmade sunglasses with different types of woods and prices that will drive you crazy!

3. If we care that much about the clothes that we use (trousers, T-shirts, jackets, even undies..), why don't we care that much about our feet? Why don't we dress them with something nice and, why not, also funny? Parachanclas! knows a lot about that. Comfortable, resistent and made with materials that respect the environment. These socks are made for walking!

And if your father is quite cool and modern, these two options will like him!

4. The first one is Amor de Padre (=Father's Love, such an appropiate name). Take a look at the website, where you'll find bags, tees and accessories with a very personal and daring style.

5. The second option is, of course, Fa-king Unicorn. A young and irreverent brand, very urban and cool. T-shirts, bags, caps, bomber jackets... Turn your father (or yourself) into a fa-king unicorn!
