The Smell of Winter

Si os pidiera que me hicieseis una lista con las cosas que nos van avisando de que el invierno cada vez está más cerca, entre ellas seguramente se encontrarían: lo pronto que se va haciendo de noche, los mazapanes y el turrón de Suchard en los supermercados desde octubre, los catálogos de las jugueterías por todas partes y, cómo no, los innumerables anuncios de perfumes inundando la televisión.

If I ask you to make a list with all those things that indirectly tell us that winter is coming, I'm sure some all the answers would be: how soon it gets dark, the marzipans and the nougat at the supermarket since October, the catalogs of the toy stores everywhere and, of course, the countless ads of perfumes on TV.

Y como parece que el olor de un perfume ya no es suficiente para que la gente lo compre, qué mejor que poner a un tío buenorro para promocionarlo (y si puede ser acompañado de una tía que este cañón, mejor).
And, as it seems that the scent of a fragance is not enough to convince someone to buy it, let's place a hot guy on the ad to promote it (and if he's accompanied by a sexy girl, much better).

The Oscars 2017: Favourite & Not So Favourite Looks...

Ayer se celebró la 89 edición de la gala de los Oscar, una entrega de premios que cada vez gana más popularidad por su alfombra roja, que por la entrega de premios en sí. Y tengo que decir que, en mi opinión, los looks que desfilaron ayer por el photocall han sido de los peores que he visto en mucho tiempo. Una auténtica demostración de chonismo y mal gusto. Cada vez tengo más claro que, en la mayoría de los casos, menos es más.

The 89th edition of the Oscar Awards took place yesterday, an event in which its red carpet gains more popularity year after year, more than the prizes themselves. I have to say that, in my opnion, I didn't like most of the outfits at the photocall. The choice of the dress, the hair, the make up... in most cases, everything failed. If I'm sure of something is that in many times less is more.

El blanco, el dorado y el nude han sido los protagonistas. Si nos vamos a colores más vivos, el Oscar se lo lleva el rojo. Y el color negro, siempre elegante y acertado, en algunos casos no ha sido la mejor opción. He seleccionado algunos de los que más me han gustado y algunos de los que menos. A ver si estáis de acuerdo conmigo.

The colour white, the golden and the nude were the protagonists of the night. If we talk about more vivid colours, the Oscar goes to the red. And black, always classy and correct, in some cases it wasn't the best choice. I've chosen some of the looks that I've liked the most and some that I haven't enjoyed that much. Let's see if you agree with me.
