Get ready for the last night of the year!

Fin de año está a la vuelta de la esquina (como que es mañana!) Sí, ya ha pasado otro año.... Y entre tanta comida/merienda/cena familiar típica de estas fechas, toca hacer balance y plantearse nuevos propósitos para el 2015, y quien dice nuevos, dice los mismos de siempre, esos que nunca se acaban cumpliendo: ponerse a dieta, aprender idiomas, hacer más ejercicio... que os voy a decir que no sepáis!

Dejando todo esto a un lado, también toca elegir modelito para despedir el 2014 y darle la bienvenida al nuevo año. Si hace 365 días os dejaba un post con algunas propuestas para ir requeteguapos por fuera, ahora os traigo otro pero para ir requeteguapos por dentro.

De todos es sabido que, aparentemente, da suerte empezar el año con ropa interior roja. Yo no sé si eso será cierto, pero por intentarlo que no quede, no? Me he documentado (sí, lo sé, estoy que me salgo) y algunos de los significados del color ROJO son el poder, la vitalidad y la ambición, además de aportar coraje, confianza y optimismo, por no hablar de que es el color por excelencia del amor, el deseo y la pasión. Aunque no creáis en estas cosas da igual, porque de todas formas es un color bien bonito! Así que aquí os dejo algunas propuestas por si aún no estáis equipados:

New Year's Eve is just around the corner (actually, it's tomorrow!) Another year is about to finish.... and within so many family meals and suppers so typical of this time of the year, we have to look back and make some new resolutions for 2015. Well... they don't have to be that new, we can always call upon those resolutions we never fulfil: get on a diet, learn another language, work out... well, nothing new you don't know yet!

Leaving all of that aside, we also have to choose a proper outfit to say farewell to 2014 and welcome the new year. If 365 days ago I wrote a post with some ideas to look magnificent on the outside, now I want you to look magnfiicent on the inside as well.

It is well known that, apparently, starting a new year with red underwear brings luck. I don't know if that's true or not, but there's nothing wrong with trying it, right? I've made some research (yes, I know, I'm surprised with myself too) and some of the meanings associated to the colour RED are power, vitality and ambition; it also gives courage, self-confidence and optimism, and it's also the colour of love, desire and passion. It doesn't matter if you don't believe in that stuff, because it's a really nice colour in any case! So here you have some proposals just in case you still don't have the entire equipment.

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show '14

47 pares de piernas kilométricas, cuatro artistas internacionales, una nueva localización y miles de tweets, retweets, FAVs, likes, reposts y un sinfín de términos asociados a las redes sociales, que echaron humo la noche del desfile más esperado del año.

El Earls Court Exhibition Centre (Londres) fue el enclave elegido este año para celebrar el que es sin duda uno de los eventos del mundo de la moda con más repercusión a nivel internacional. Para amenizar la cita, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran y Hozier se encargaron de ponerle banda sonora a los desfiles. 

Pero sin duda, las auténticas protagonistas son las modelos: 9 ÁNGELES (sí, con mayúsculas) cuyos nombres ya todos conocen: Adriana Lima, Karlie Kloss, Candice Swanepoel, Alessandra Ambrosio, Lindsay Ellingson, Doutzen Kroes, Lily Aldridge, Behati Prinsloo y Erin Heatherton; y acompañándolas, el resto de bellezones, con caras nuevas como la top española Blanca Padilla. 
Los asistentes al show, dividido en seis secciones (Gilded Angels, University of Pink, Exotic Traveler, Fairy Tale, Dream Girl y Angel Ball), no dejaron de aplaudir, y es que el Victoria's Secret Fashion Show es un espectáculo digno de ver!

Como dato curioso, este año han sido dos las modelos encargadas de lucir el Fantasy Bra: Adriana Lima y Alessandra Ambrosio, ángeles consagrados de la firma con años de experiencia en los tacones.

No me enrollo más. Como todavía no he visto en Youtube el vídeo completo, os dejo con un vídeo del casting de este año y un par de vídeos con las actuaciones de Ariana Grande y Ed Sheeran durante el desfile!

47 pairs of never-ending legs, four international artists, a new setting and thousands of tweets, retweets, FAVs, likes, reposts and endless terms related to the social networks which remained unstoppable during the night of the most expected fashion show of the year. 

The Earls Court Exhibition Centre (London) was the chosen setting this year for celebrating one of the fashion events with a huge international impact. To make the appointment more pleasant, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran and Hozier were in charge of the runway soundtrack. 

Though, with no doubt, the main attraction are the models: 9 ANGELS (yes, in capitals), whose names are known by everyone: Adriana Lima, Karlie Kloss, Candice Swanepoel, Alessandra Ambrosio, Lindsay Ellingson, Doutzen Kroes, Lily Aldridge, Behati Prinsloo and Erin Heatherton; and with them, the rest of the beauties, with new faces such as the Spanish top Blanca Padilla.

The audience attending the show, divided in six different sections (Gilded Angels, University of Pink, Exotic Traveler, Fairy Tale, Dream Girl and Angel Ball), didn't stop applauding. It's undeniable that the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is something worth seeing!

Worth mentioning is that, this year, two models were responsible of wearing the Fantasy Bra: Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio, renowned angels of the brand with years of experience in their heels. 

As I haven't already found the full show on Youtube, I took a few videos from the CBS channel. One is the casting for the models of this year and the other two are the performances of Ariana Grande and Ed Sheeran! xx

Luces... Cámaras... MODA!

Una persona (yo) que va en un avión de un punto A a un punto B, ¿en qué momento del vuelo decide usar la app de Notas de su iPhone para escribir un nuevo post para su blog?

Pues yo tampoco lo sé, pero es lo que estoy haciendo ahora mismo (entiéndase por ''ahora'' al momento en el que estaba escribiendo esto), y es que la inspiración llega cuando menos te lo esperas, y de quien menos te lo esperas.

Leyendo el último número de ICON (publicación mensual de manos de El País a la que dediqué mi último post: aquí), en un par de artículos se hace referencia a una nueva disciplina artística que está íntimamente ligada al mundo de la moda: los fashion films. De ellas precisamente os quiero hablar.

Un fashion film es un cortometraje cuyo protagonista es la firma de moda en cuestión. Sus fines son claramente promocionales y están lejos de considerarse un mero anuncio y más una súper producción. Y para que entendáis mejor lo que os estoy contando, os dejo con 5 de mis fashion films favoritas de este año:

- ''The Colours'' (Chanel) es el episodio 11 de una serie de 12, y hace un repaso sobre la historia y el significado de los colores más representativos de la firma:

- ''Somebody'' (Miu Miu) me encanta! Es el episodio número 8 de Women's Tales y es muy gracioso, seguro que os encanta:

- ''A Rose Reborn'' (Ermenegildo Zegna) es el proyecto más ambicioso de la firma. En el último número de ICON tenéis toda la info sobre este fashion film:

- ''T'' (Alexander Wang) es un corto muy divertido y con colaboradores de lujo!

- ''The One That I Want'' (Chanel). Dirigida por Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge), del cual podéis saber más leyendo su entrevista en ICON y protagonizada por Gisele Bündchen y Michiel Huisman (Daario Naharis en Juego de tronos), es una obra de arte que tampoco os podéis perder:

I don't know the answer either, but that's what I'm doing now (considering ''now'' as the moment when I was writing this), because inspiration may arrive when you least expected, and from you least expected.

Reading the last ICON issue (monthly publication together with El País and protagonist of my last post: here), there're a couple of articles which make reference to a new artistic discipline closely related to fashion: the fashion films. And those are the reason of this post.

A fashion film is a short film in which the fashion brand is the main protagonist. With clearly promotional purposes, they're far away from being mere ads and more a huge production. And so you can understand better what I'm telling you, here you have 5 of my favourite fashion films of this year:

- ''The Colours'' (Chanel) is the eleventh episode out of 12, and it's about a ride of the history and meaning of the most representative colours of the firm. 

- ''Somebody'' (Miu Miu) is just grate! It's the 8th episode of Women's Tales and it's really funny. I'm sure you'll love it!

- ''A Rose Reborn'' (Ermenegildo Zegna) is the most ambitious project of the brand. In the last ICON issue you have all the info about this fashion film.

- ''T'' (Alexander Wang) is a very funny short film with luxury collaborators!

- ''The One That I Want'' (Chanel). Directed by Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge), of whom you can know more by reading his interview in ICON, it's performed by Gisele Bündchen and Michiel Huisman (Daario Naharis in Game of thrones). It's a piece of art you cannot miss!
