London Collections: Men | Spring/Summer 14

I would like to introduce you this guy that you can see in the pics. Those of you who watched the TV program Supermodelo 2008 will recall him for sure.

Supermodelo 2008 was the third season of this contest-reality show, and also the last one. The reason? Well, the same reason which explains why other programs and series are cancelled: scarce audience. Besides, the format of this season was completely different and male contestants were also introduced. Among these male contestants, Oliver was not only part of the group but he also was the winner of the program, together with Eva Prieto.

It is true that we know almost nothing (or nothing at all) about the 45 contestants (aprox.) wanting to become professional models that participated in the three seasons. The most famous nowadays are Malena Costa, Alba Carrillo and Noelia López (the winner of the second edition), but not because of their works at the fashion world, but rather beacuse of their love relationships. But let's go back to the protagonist of this post.

Oliver Baggerman did not only win the prize, but he nowadays works for one of the most prestigious model agencies all over the world, UNO Barcelona. Honestly, it's being quite a long time without knowing anything about him, although I had seen indeed a couple of his works after leaving the program. As a faithful fan of Supermodelo, I'm happy to know that some of them are still following their dreams. Supermodelo meant a huge opportunity when it came to help them taking a first step into the fashion world. Although, it is clear that without enthusiasm, pacience, hard-work and dedication is impossible to take a second step. So, from this blog, congratulations Oliver, and keep on working! And for you who read me, I leave you these great pictures and these eight outfits, both thanks to the photographer Germán Alemán (http://www.germanaleman.com/)

Lowxury...

... o lujo a bajo coste.

... or low-cost luxury.

This concept emerged due to the necessity by the luxury industry to face the crisis in order to increase its customers. This new kind of industry offers products which can be afforded by middle class citizens, without excluding the quality of the product and, above all, certain degree of exclusivity.

All of you know lowxury products. Some of the H&M collections of the last few years are an example. Lanvin, Karl Lagerfeld, Versace, Jimmy Choo or Roberto Cavalli are some of the biggest within the fashion industry that have collaborated with the Swedish multinational. Of course, brands play a very important role, creating value-added produts and making them more desirable.

You may also want to buy lowxury products through the Internet. Well, you can. BuyVip.com is a company created by the enterprising Gustavo García. His company has already more than 2 million customers and it has invoiced 130 million Euros in four years.

But if you want to buy lowxury jewelry and accesories, Uno de 50 (unode50.com) can be a very good option. In its beginnings, it did not produce more than 50 pieces of each creation. Nowadays, and due to its success, it has increased the production, although it still offers limited collections of 50 pieces.

As you can see, luxury stops being unachievable, thus becoming something attainable.

Do you have many lowxury items? What is your opinion about collaborations such as those by H&M? Do you think this is something good or bad for the fashion industry?
