Desde hace años, la Navidad ya no es para mi una fecha significativa, por decirlo de alguna manera. Cuando cada vez son menos los seres queridos que te acompañan, y más las sillas vacías que quedan, empiezas a desear que estas fechas pasen lo más rápido posible. Pero no sé si ha sido por las circunstancias de este año tan “particular”, o simplemente porque sí, pero este año siento cierta ilusión por la Navidad y me apetecía mucho decorar nuestro piso.
It has been several years since I do not enjoy Christmas the way that it is supposed to be enjoyed. When the people that you love the most is no longer with you and all you see is more empty chairs, you only wish that this time of the year finish as soo as possible. But maybe because of the circumstances of this peculiar year, I am actually feeling the Christmas spirit again and I did feel like decorating our home.
Lo curioso es que la decoración que tenía en mente al final no es la que veis en las fotos. Me inclinaba más por un estilo escandinavo. Una decoración más minimalista, con el verde, el blanco y la madera como protagonistas. Pero una cosa llevó a la otra, y en verdad me gusta mucho como ha quedado.
The funny thing is that, before decorating, I had a clear style in my head, a very Scandinavian one, but the result was totally different. I had pictured in my mind green, white en wood decor, but I ended up buying a lot of red stuff. But I must say that I really enjoy the final result.
Como veis, no hay árbol. Básicamente porque no tenemos dónde meterlo. Vivimos en un piso pequeño y está todo el espacio aprovechado al máximo. Tampoco quería una decoración excesiva y que quedase todo abarrotado. Al final lo que he hecho ha sido añadir pequeños elementos, y repartirlos a lo largo del salón y parte de la cocina.
As you can see, there is not a Christmas tree, basically because there is no place to put it. Our home is quite small and all the space is used to its maximum. I did not want a very excessive decor and having a cluttered space. What I did was to put ornaments of a medium or small size at different spots of the living room and also in some places of of the kitchen.
Espero que os guste. No es nada del otro mundo, pero me apetecía compartirlo con todes vosotres.
I hope you like it. I know it is not the most beautiful Christmas decor in the whole world, but I realy wanted to share it with you all.
