Desde Praga Con Amor

Decían que Praga es maravillosa, que me iba a encantar, que me iba a enamorar de esa ciudad... Pues tenían toda la razón! Todo tiene encanto en Praga. Desde los puentes, a los edificios, sus callejones estrechos y calles adoquinadas, hasta la decadencia de los edificios de la periferia. 

Isma y yo visitamos Praga a principios de octubre. Estuvimos tres días, que son suficientes para ver la ciudad con calma. Lo mejor de Praga son las distancias, que son apenas inexistentes. Aunque nos quedamos en un hotel a las afueras, se puede ir andando perfectamente a todas partes. Sólo tiene tres líneas de metro, con muy poquitas paradas cada una, pero que son muy útiles si no tienes mucho tiempo para ver lo más importante de Praga.

Es una ciudad para enamorarse, incluso a nosotros, que no nos hizo muy buen tiempo ninguno de los días (no nos llovió, pero estuvo nublado desde que llegamos hasta que nos fuimos), nos pareció una ciudad preciosa y digna de cualquier escapada romántica. De hecho nos encantaría volver en un futuro.

Nuestras recomendaciones, si vais, es que os la recorráis andando, y tampoco intentéis seguir a rajatabla ningún itinerario. Dejaos perder por Praga, que vale mucho la pena. Eso sí, al Castillo de Praga tenéis que subir y dar un paseo por los jardines de los alrededores. Las vitas de la ciudad desde allí son espléndidas.

El Puente de Carlos también es visita obligada. Abarrotado siempre, pero lleno de músicos, dibujantes y artistas de todo tipo de principio a fin. El Reloj Astronómico también es una de las principales atracciones turísticas de Praga. Cada vez que toca las horas en punto aparecen las figuras de los 12 apóstoles. Sinceramente, nos esperábamos algo más espectacular, pero bueno, ya que estáis allí es una pena que os vayáis sin verlo.

En cuanto al tema gastronómico, lo más famoso de la zona es el goulash. Tenéis que probarlo, está buenísimo! Y si no, siempre podéis comeros una salchicha de alguno de los puestos de la calle, que también están tremendas, y si hace frío seguro que también encontráis un puestecillo de vino caliente. De fiesta no salimos, pero cerca de nuestro hotel había un bar de cócteles, PROLOG, que era chulísimo! Una decoración genial, muy atentos y unos cócteles muy originales y ricos. Lo mejor de todo, el precio. Qué barato parece todo en Praga!

Many people used to tell me that Prague is wonderful, that I'd love it, that I'd fall in love with that city... well, they were totally right! Prague is really charming, in any sense. The bridges, the buildings, its narrow and paving streets, even the decadence of the buildings from the suburbs.

Isma and I visited Prague in October. We were there for three days, which are more than enough to know the city with no hurry. One of the best things in Prague are the distances, which are barely nonexistent. Though we stayed at a hotel in the suburbs, you can go everywhere on foot. There are only three metro lines, which have very few stops, but they're quite useful if you don't have much time to visit the most important places.

It's the perfect city to fall in love. Even though we couldn't enjoy any sunny day, we still thought that Prague was beautiful even with a cloudy sky. Trust us, a romantic escape is really worth it. In fact, we'd love to come back in the future.

Our recommendations are that you try to visit the city on foot and try also not to follow any guide. Let yourselves get lost, you won't regret it. Though, the Prague Castle and its surroundings are a must. The views of the city from there are amazing.

The Charles Bridge is also something you must see. It's always crowded, but also full of musicians, painters and artists of all kinds from its beginning to its end. The Astronomical Clock is also one of the main attractions in Prague. Every hour the figures of the 12 apostles appear. Sincerely, we expected something more spectacular. Anyway, it's a pity leaving Prague without seeing it. 

About the gastronomy, one of the most famous dishes is the goulash. You have to try it, it's really good! If not, you can always eat a sausage from any of the street stands, which are also really good. And, if it's a cold day, you'll also find a little stand of hot wine to warm you up. We didn't go out at night, but close to our hotel we found a cocktail bar, PROLOG, that we loved! Great decoration, very good service and very original and tasty cocktails. The best of all, the prices. Everything seems cheaper in Prague!
